Finally returning to the hospital, Kas was dead-set on leaving it as soon as possible. Loika managed to escape from Neal, and the situation was resolved without anybody coming out in a body cast like he expected.

Taking a short-cut and sneaking in through the cracks around the room's window, the little white cloud quickly re-formed itself into a person, who walked over to Eve's bedside and smiled.

"Time to make a break for it, love! Let's get the hell outta here."

No doubt Eve would be happy to hear that her best friend was fine. Though right now all he could concentrate on was getting her out of here, where they could be alone together for a while.

Evelyn was laying on the damn hospital bed,not being able to do anything.Mackenzie had left, saying that she would be fine, and even if Eve wanted to keep her there to make sure she was okay, she knew that Mackenzie could make her do the exact opposite. She couldn't fight Mackenzie, and mostly not now.She was still recovering of whatever happened. She was stabbed, almost lost her precious baby, and now her powers became smoke and disappeared without a warning. She was cursed and she was sure for that, but she was trying to stay strong.

She hoped that Loika was fine,or she could never find peace. She would say it was her fault she was hurt, even though she hadn't done anything to cause this. She loved her Best Friend, and had promised to protect her,and her child. She didn't really like Peter, and Peter didn't like her either,so they were good like that.Though Eve knew that Loika could protect herself just fine,so she wasn't really worried, but still...Neal wasn't well mentally. No one knew what he could do to her without even understanding it,and Evelyn didn't want to consider the possibilities.

Thinking all these, she had fallen asleep. She was sleeping soundly until a small movement of the window created a creaking noise, making her eyes snap open is time to see a cloud of smoke turn into a very familiar person. Her love.Kas made his way over to her with a smile, and she couldn't help but smile back sleepily. She looked like a baby when she woke up.She yawned and rubbed her eyes, letting out a small giggle at his words. He had come to get her out of here.Finally..,she thought. She had missed outside, and couldn't wait to get out of this hell hole."Baby...carry me.."

More than happy to oblige that request, Kas couldn't wait to have Eve in his arms again. Together is where they belonged.
"Whoa, baby. I'm not sure how long I can carry you!" He teased, trying to insinuate that Eve was getting heavier already. Truthfully, the weight was almost negligable. He could run with more, easily.
"Maybe I shouldn't have brought a whole pizza." Snikkering as he started out of the room with her, Kas gave Eve's forehead a kiss. She was so cute when she got pissed off.
Heading out of the hospital, he didn't even look back. They passed through the sliding doors into a warm summer day. The sun was beating down from a cloudless sky, balanced by a cool gentle breeze.
"Aw shit..!"
A few steps out the door, he started to lose his grip on her. Not intentional by any means, he phased in and out of mist form for less than a second. Kas recovered just in time before he dropped her to the sidewalk.
"hmm.. maybe you should walk from here?" He chuckled and let her down.
Fortunately, his car was parked only a short distance away.
He kept a hold of her hand, going slowly so that Eve didn't overdo it.
"Is everything still... yanno.. not working right?"
He meant of course her pyro power, though he wasn't going to come right out and say it while they weren't completely alone.

Evelyn tried to ignore his comments about her weight, but couldn't help and glare softly at him as he kept teasing her.He sometimes gave her the idea that he loved seeing her mad,and that's why he kept teasing her."Oh yes, love.Keep teasing me and you won't like the results!"
A smirk appeared on her lips and she laughed a little as he carried her outside. She loved being in his arms, and could stay in there for the rest of he life. But Kas's new power seemed otherwise. And it was making her mad.

As they walked outside, his figure turned into his smoky self, making her pass through him with a yelp, but he thankfully caught her just as she was about to hit the ground. She had just left the hospital, and he was trying to get her back in there it seemed. Was this some kind of payback? She didn't know.Nodding at his suggestion,Evelyn got on her feet, and smiled at him as he grabbed her hand. They slowly made their way over to his car, walking hand in hand, something she loved. She didn't want to rush, and this slow pace was exactly what she wanted right now.

His next question threw her off guard, and she stopped in her tracks, looking up at him as the smile died on her lips.Evelyn had kind of forgotten what was wrong with her powers, but now that he brought it up,Eve remembered that she was in deep trouble. She looked at her hands, and nodded.Sighing, she turned her gaze away, not daring to look into his eyes."Kas..what if they never come back? Will you still want me?"

As Eve looked away, he gulped a breath.
"Huh?
It wasn't that he didn't hear the question, but Kas wasn't sure how to answer it.
He loved Evelyn, not her power. Having it or not didn't change that.
But would she be the same person without it?

"Wh- of course I will!"
Though worry was beginning to work a splinter into his mind, and it would continue to fester.
What if the guy who kidnapped her to Neverland did something to take her power away?
How would she protect herself? Could Eve stand to be the only one among friends and family that was no longer a mutant? How much would it change things?

"Come on. I love you for being you. Fire or not, you're still you."

Evelyn sighed at his reply, turning and hiding herself into his arms, holdin him tightly. Her face was hidden in his neck, trying to stop the tears that threatened to come out,as her hands wrapped themselves around his neck tightly, never wanting to let go.She was afraid.Terribly afraid.
"That's the thing Kas..If I don't have powers,I am human.I am like my bastard of a father.I don't want to be like that..I can't be like that..I can't lose you..not now..not after everything we've been through and.."
But Eve stopped in mid sentence as she felt dizzy all of a sudden, and closed her eyes tightly with a groan. All this wasn't helping her health. She had to get her powers back..somehow.

"I need to get back to how I was..I need to find a way to bring them back.."
Evelyn pulled back slightly to look at him, brushing some of her tears away, and giving him a small sad smile. Her eyes fell from his,to her belly, and her smile grew,as her hand clasped her middle. That little angel in there was her everything. Her own flesh and blood. Her baby..
"What shall we name him?I am thinking of something pretty..because he's gonna look just like you,I am sure.."

A jumble of questions were flying though his brain, but externally they were getting no closer to their goals. In several ways, in fact. Barely more than a short distance out of the hospital, the young couple were a minor hinderance to traffic as they embraced each other in the parking lot. Everything else in the world around them was determined to advance at the fastest pace possible. Kas hugged Eve as reasonably tight as he could without squishing anyone. He nodded at her when Eve said the same thing that was on his mind. They had to find out what the problem was.. and how, or if, they could fix it.

Kas wasn't entirely unaware of their surroundings. He put the two of them in a defensive pressure bubble, dampening the short barrage of 'breep's from the yellow fuel-eco sedan that stopped in the lane and demanded they move it along.
He smiled at Eve as her eyes connected with his, and she glanced down at her slightly rounded middle.
"How pretty are we talking, hotness..? I don't see myself getting very attached to 'Angel' or 'Channing'."

"How pretty are we talking, hotness..? I don't see myself getting very attached to 'Angel' or 'Channing'."

Evelyn laughed and punched his shoulder playfully, giving him a rediculous look."No,I was seriously thinkin naming him Liza."She then rolled her eyes at her own sarcastic reply and laughed, shaking her head. She could never name her man something like that.
She would find him a manly name. And what better than...the first man on earth?Yes,Adam was a great name, she thought.
"How about Adam?"

Evelyn entangled her hand with his again, and started pulling him along, towards the car. That silver Supra that she had indeed missed. He drove her to their first date with this..saved her twice with is,she raced him home with this..so many crazy things they did together and almost got killed, but who cares? They were young and did anything they felt like it.They liked to live at risk. But now it was time to show their responsibility, because Evelyn, was sure as hell not going to put the baby's life on the line.

Giving Eve a big, goofy smile, he hardly noticed her dainty hand connecting with his shoulder. Her smile was what he was after, and it was a great thing to see.
"Adam.. That's a strong name. I like it!"
The fact that she used the nickname Eve too made it a good fit.
"And it's hard to make fun of."
Kas snikkered. Unlike the name Kelly, which he found to be a girl's name more often than a boy's.. and that was only the beginning of the torment.

Taking his hand out of hers for a moment as they neared the car, he opened the door for her.
"Whoa! Hold on." The interior was baked by the summer sun long enough that the seats were all scorching hot.
"You got a hot ass, baby.. but I don't think you needs to be cooked."
Reaching across, he shoved the other door open and allowed the air to rush through, clearing out the greenhouse effect, and cooling it down to a tolerable level.
Kas gave Eve a sweet little peck on the lips before moving out of the way so she could sit.
"It feels odd to sit in a car and drive now.."
He commented with a chuckle, after sliding into the driver's seat.

Evelyn was glad that Kas liked her idea of a name. She had been thinking about it a lot,but couldn't decide, and she needed his opinion as well,so she just waited for her ideas to eithe be approved by him,or declined.
"Don't worry,my Kelly.No one will make fun of you,sweetheart.."
Eve couldn't suppress the laugh that came over her.It was indeed funny, and she loved teasing him,so she couldn't help it.

As they made their way to the car,Eve had a goofy smile on,thinking of Kas,holding the little baby in his arms. She really had to see how he would look with a baby. How he would treat it.It would be funny to watch him trying to handle a baby.
As he stopped her and commented how hot her ass was,Evelyn rolled her eyes and shook her head, but on the inside, she was glad that she still had his attention.
"Oh you love it!"
As he opened the other door, and let the breeze blow through,Evelyn closed her eyes and felt the air brush her skin, before getting in the car,and getting comfortable in the seat.
"Why would it be weird? This car has gone through as much as we have.."

Kas hadn't thought of it that way. He shut the door behind him, and smiled at Eve.
He chose this car because of the way it was shaped, and what was under the hood. He didn't have any attachment to it. Though Eve did have a point.

"After.. that thing happened.." Referring to his unexplained 'disappearence' that ultimately lead to her being alone when Lakai came calling. "I haven't really needed the car."
Not to mention he couldn't keep ahold of the keys anyway. Metal, plastic, or any other material besides completely natural fibers were dropped on the spot as soon as he was in his intangible form.
He couldn't carry a phone or money, or even a weapon. It was frustrating at first, though he was working out the bugs.

"I think this is the longest one vehicle has lasted with me." He chuckled. It was strange, but the good times they had together somehow made something of no consequence important. It all came back to her, he realized. Eve was the only thing keeping his feet on the ground. The one attachement to the world. Well, now she and Adam were.
"It was nice to fly, at first." He related, reflecting on the feelings that slowly came to him after finally reasoning what had happened. "But then it was frightening. I couldn't figure out how to stop it."
Until he found his way home, and saw her.
