Surprise attack (pg-13)

Luna flew for a long while, having to take some time and tighten the t-shirt around her bleeding wound. It began to get night and Luna was shaking and bleeding heavily. She lands in an alleyway and shifted back hesitantly. She walks out, stumbling occasionally to see the Medical Center. She sighs in relief and people look at her in shock and see's her hands covered in blood. Her eyes were a pale grey and her skin was nearly snow white. They see her wound and panic, a man picks her up bridal style and rushes to the reception. ''Help her! She just came out from nowhere bleeding!!'' The doctors rush to inspect her wound and their eyes widen. They take her off the man's hands and he shakily walks out after being thanked and assured a safe recovery. The nurses rush to get the surgery room ready and the doctors basically run to the room. They place her on the table just in time for her to faint. They rush to work and check and stitch the wounds.

After a couple hours making it around eleven at night, Luna was in a hospital room, unfortunately wide awake. She touches the bandage around her stomach and saw her hands were bandaged too from her rough landing. She breathes deeply and winces at the pain. She pushes her hair out of her face and looks at the ceiling thinking of the events that occurred in her bedroom. Why the hell did she attack me? Why won't the doctors say what's really wrong? What happened to me? She thinks to herself and looks around awkwardly. She hated hospitals as it was so being in one, in pain, did not help her at all.

Luna was in mid thought when she heard a knock at her door. A visitor? She see's it open and her eyes widen after seeing Cameron with a hand on her mouth. She shuffles up so she's slightly sitting up, wincing at the pain of it. Her eyes clamp down shut as she breathes for a second and they slowly open up, showing her bright blue eyes coming back faintly. A small smile graces her face to at least reassure Cameron she was alright even though Luna didn't even know if she was. ''Hello Angel...What's brought ya to the Medical center then?'' She says with a lopsided grin, she knew the answer but she just wanted to act like she was okay. The words that Adrienne said to her did touch her nerves but not as much as she wanted.

Luna lets her smile grow and she sighs at her question. ''Remember that idiot Adrienne? Well she bloody went to my room, hid behind my curtain and i smelt her. I shot at her with an arrow and gun but they just went through her. She told me too....she mentioning my family and how i miss them when i don't. I hate my parents for what they did. She said my brother is probably thinking of killing me himself. She called me a broken girl who's just looking for some friends. She also called me something...which stung seeing as i used to be a dancer in a club. I hated it. She then stabbed me right in the stomach. I told her to get out my room and she grabbed my head, yanked it back and punched me. She cut my shoulder. I grabbed the knife and twisted her arm. She kneed her in the stomach and flew out my window.'' She recalls, repeating the memory in her head. She has her hand on her bandaged stomach and she looks at Cameron. ''I-I think she's trying to pick us all off...the ones from that night. Everyone needs to stick together, Angel...I-it's not safe.'' She stutters out with tears welling up in her eyes at the thought of her friends getting hurt.

"No, no. Leave me alone." A man screamed, as a shadow followed. That man thought that by jumping to another building, he was safe. Complete fool. Gavin was already on the other side. His katana went deep into the man's chest, tearing his Pectoralis Major muscle apart, his blade entering the mans fourth rib interspace. "See? See that? Now look at this..." Blade said sadistically, piercing the man's chest with his hand, ripping his sternum out, and throwing it onto the floor. The man dropped to the ground, bleeding to death, as Gavin cleared his hand, taking his katana of the man's carcass, and sheathing it. "Fucking trash."

As he looked to his side, an angelical, very familiar girl, landed on the floor. "Cameron?" Gavin asked, somewhat shyly. As she entered the hospital, Blade waited a bit. He gave her enough time to get into a room at least on the third floor. Blade jumped from the building's ledge, over the alley, landing in front of a window of the medical center. After a while of searching, he made it to the room he wished to find. The window slid open, as the dark figure entered the room. He looked at Cameron with a smile, and then turned to Luna. "What in the hell happened?" He asked, trying not to talk to Cameron. Their last encounter was a bit...embarrassing for Gavin.

Luna smiles at Cameron. ''Thank you...Don't be sorry. I wouldn't have wanted anyone to see that...'' She squeezed Cameron's hand softly and tenses as the window opens. The tips of her ears grow fur and when she see's Gavin, she sighs at his question. ''That adrienne chick came into my room, saying some stuff, stabbed me in the stomach, cut my shoulder and punched me. She knew about my brother when barely any one knows 'bout him.'' She gave him a shortened version. ''Also..Hello to you too Blade. What brings you to here?'' She asks with a curious tone, trying to brush away the fact she was in pain. She noticed his smile to Cameron and she made a mental note to ask him privately. She sniffed the air to smell a faint scent of blood but she brushed it aside. ''I think Adrienne is going to try and pick  us off..one by one...'' She says shakily.

Gavin sighed heavily, rubbing his temples. Adrienne was stubborn. She was making Gavin do something he didn't want to do. ''She's pushing it. I gotta go talk to someone I didn't want to talk to. But I guess if she goes on with this, it'll be necessary. Achilles is safe. At least when he's in the colony. Because if she touches the Morlocks, I will personally kill her. Will not care about her little group coming for me. What a day...'' He commented, but not even a smile came out at Luna's question. ''Business you don't need to worry about.'' He answered, not hiding his gloveless hand, which still had the man's blood in it. He looked at Cameron yet again, and was glad his eyes were hid behind his sunglasses. "D-Didn't have time to change?" He asked. Now that Luna had explained everything, Blade had an idea on what to do. "You're safe," he said, looking back at Luna. "But," he turned his gaze to Cameron again, "you are not!" He exclaimed. "For now, I'm leaving Jason out of this. You both have to be less careless, and try to yell for help for fuck's sake."

Luna nods at his words and when he moved his hand, the scent of blood grew stronger. She listened to Gavin talk and frowned at his exclamation. ''What's gotten into you!? What's with this random outburst!? We're in a hospital, late at night and you're shouting. Sit down and calm it!'' She said, not angrily but worriedly. She looked at Cameron to see a faint blush and she felt confused. ''Why are we leaving Jason out of this, Blade?'' She asks with a confused tone. He could help, right?

Gavin sighed, as he turned around. The situation was annoying him. He didn't care about being in a hospital. At all, if he had something to say, he'd say it. Out loud, and for everyone to hear. "You have Luna? On her own, she seemed to not pan out very well," he said, pointing at Luna. The girl had just been stabbed. What told Cameron the same wasn't gonna happen, and then Cameron would be alone. "You have more people that wish to help you. One of them being me. I-I'll always be there to protect you. And both of you stop telling me to be quiet, when you know it won't work." Blade knew many stubborn people. But when he something in his mind, he was the most stubborn of all. "We don't need another war to break down..." He explained.

He proceeded to explain everything that happened. A member of the brotherhood gone insane attacked all the x-men, and even the Brotherhood members. And then, a huge battle between the two factions happened. And Blade witnessed it all. He didn't want it to happen again. "So, that's why Jason is staying out of it. And that's why Adrienne hates every X-Men. Before you arrived, she nearly died."

Adrienne had to finish the job. She couldn't leave Luna alive to tell the story of her failure. That's not how it worked. Daggers tucked into her boots and her black cap covering her face, Adrienne was walking down to the reception desk. "Hi, I am looking for a friend of mine, Luna Valkyrie. Can you please tell me in which room she is?" asked Adrienne politely.
"She's in a room 204, if you go down the hall, it will be on your right." replied the lady behind the counter.
"Thank you,"

Pulling her cap closer to her eyes, Adrienne made her way to the end of the hallway. On her way there, she saw Cameron, but she avoided the eye contact with her. It wouldn't do her ruining the fun for Adrienne.

Three minutes later, Adrienne pushed the door to the room slowly. She heard talking but disregarded them as she fully walked into the room. Shutting the door behind her with her foot. "Well, how is our patient doing?" asked Adrienne, chuckling. "You don't look so well, would you like some help?"

Gavin grunted, as Cameron began to leave. Dammit. He said, as the door shut. What did Cameron want exactly? Gavin didn't know what he wished to do. He simply never had much experience. But, Cameron seemed to like him. But was it like the usual liking? Was she simply fond of him? Liked having him around? Or did she actually like him? Gavin wasn't sure about his feelings, but he knew that what he felt for Cameron was strong. Very strong. And he wasn't just gonna let her go like that. "I'll be checking on you soon Luna. Stay here." He said,about to follow Cameron.

His fists clenched and he sighed. "Adrienne, it's enough." Blade said, standing by Luna's bed. "What's gotten into you? First trying to attack Cameron, now this girl. You're better than that." He tried to reach out to her. This was a bad situation, and if anything went wrong, Gavin knew who to help. Loyalty wasn't the problem in that night. "If you're trying to get even with the X-Men after what they did to you, don't take it out on these new students. They had nothing to do with that little battle you had. Heck, they weren't even in the X-Men by then to begin with."

Adrienne was surprised to see Gavin there. She chuckled in annoyance. "This just simply won't do..." said Adrienne as she opened her fist, releasing the force field blast at Gavin. "This would have been so much simpler if no one gotten in my way."

Turning to Luna in bed, Adrienne walked up to her, pulling out dagger from her left boot. "Did you honestly thought I would not find you. I thought you X-Men were brave ol' chaps...but I guess I overestimated you all. Shame on me..." said Adrienne as she placed a dagger to girl's throat. She knew Gavin was going to be up any moment. "Make a move and I'll cut her throat. If you want to test your speed, try me!"

Luna watched as Cameron left and Gavin was just about to when the same girl entered the room. Chills went down her spine. She feels her dagger get pressed against her neck and a growl rumbles in her chest as she bares her sharp teeth. She looks in the corner of her lion like eyes to see Cameron come in, using her powers to hold the knife out of the girl's reach. Luna sat up higher, wincing un-noticeably and looks in the pathetic girl's eyes. ''I have done nothing to you yet you still attack me. You bother me in my place of rest and stab me in my stomach for no reason. Listen here...I wasn't there when you had this battle nor do i wish i had been. I have had enough of your messed up logic. You come to the institute and attack my friend who has done nothing to you and you met her for the first time then. If you have such a hate with x-students, the least ya can do is leave us alone and live your life. Listen to Blade and i swear to the gods, if you come anywhere near my friends again, i'll rip you limb from limb and feed you to the wild wolves.'' She said calmly. Her hands began to grow gold fur and her nails began to turn black and thick as her body fights the shift of turning into a lion. She breathes deeply and looks at Adrienne. ''Just leave please.'' She says again calmly, Adrienne's words taking no effect.

Gavin was thrown to the ground by the force field's blast, and remained there. He didn't get up, as Cameron and Luna were trying to take care of the situation. But who was he kidding? He knew that wasn't enough. Adrienne would never listen. So Gavin slid his gun into his hand, and got up. Luna was trying to talk some sense into Adrienne, and Cameron was holding up the knife. Smart girls. He took out his newly acquired Winchester .223 Super Short Magnum. Rifle from his back, and pointed it straight at the girl.

"My bullets travel at 4000 feet per second. You'd be dead before you could even create your little force field. Now, we are in a hospital. You want to do this, you'll take it somewhere else. So leave!" Gavin said, irritated with Adrienne's antics. His finger on the trigger, ready to strike her down. He couldn't let this happen. He'd much faster kill Adrienne than let her hurt his friends. Specially Luna and Cameron. She had done enough, and now it was time to leave.

Adrienne burst out laughing. This scene looked more like a romance setting then survival. It made her sick. As Adrienne was holding her dagger to Luna's throat, her hand flew up and her dagger was thrown out, where it was left to suspend above her. Adrienne turned to see Cameron walking into the room. "Oh, I wish you haven't done that..." she said as she released another blast at Cameron.

Stepping away from Luna, she looked at Gavin. "First of all, I didn't know you had so little faith in me, Gavin Second of all, I take no orders from you or anyone in this room. I do as I please." said Adrienne. "Have you forgotten your bullets can do no damage to me whatsoever, no matter how fast they fly...just ask the handicap over here." pointing at Luna in bed, Adrienne smirked. Then, Adrienne heard threats coming from Luna.

"I don't think you are in position to negotiate." she chuckled. "You can barely turn into anything, let alone fight." Pulling out her other dagger, Adrienne hesitated about who to attack. She was standing back facing Cameron, suddenly she spun very fast and throw her dagger at her. Hoping it would not miss.

"Your doing good Kasai" the doctor said gently as she pulled the girls wings straightening them then folding them "You would never think you were covered in burns, your feathers have regrown and everything looks wonderful"

Kasai nodded as she slid off the table "I'm sorry to come here so late...the pain was back and I didnt know what to do..."

"You will feel the pain for the rest of your life Kasai but you are strong and the recovery has gone well"

Kasai nodded as she picked up her katana and put the belt on. Folding her wings in they melted into her skin becoming tattoos, bowing to the doctor she left the room and started down the hall when she heard shouting. Her body tensed and her hand went to the hilt of her blade, back to the wall she made her way down the hall the voices getting louder.

"Damn you" she could hear, following the solid sound of a blade hitting the wall. A quick glance around the corner set the scene for her, leaning against the wall she thought out the situation. Waiting less then a full heart beat she turned the corner slamming the door open the rest of the way, her blade was drawn with a sharp hiss of metal on metal, within seconds she was in front of the attacker, the one threatening the girl in the hospital bed, her blade leveled at her chin "Quite cowardly to attack a patient" she said her dark eyes watching every move.

Luna growls louder and Adrienne's words and the moment the blade hit Cameron's wing she shifted. Now on the bed was a golden lioness in a pouncing position growling at the girl. She was bandaged around the stomach but other than that looked completely fine. Her tail waved in air as a feline growl rumbled through the lion's chest. The door slammed open and the lion looked for a split second seeing a girl holding a blade to Adrienne's chin. Cameron was doing the same and she stared at Adrienne. She growls louder and bares her teeth, coming closer to the girl. She shifts back and stares into her eyes. ''Leave now. You've caused enough trouble.'' She hisses out and shifts again, smoothly and without pain, into a lioness again. She slams her paw down on the bed and growls louder than before.

Gavin held his gun in its holster again, and began to clap. "Adrienne, you see, this is your mistake. You're picking on people that aren't weaklings. And are never alone. You were able to attack Luna, but what about now? Are you just gonna phase and run away like a coward?" Gavin slowly took his katanas out, as their unsheathing made a quick light go through the room. As Blade slowly made his way around the bed where Luna laid in her lion form, his smirk never ceased to exist. He was next to her, watching that new girl threaten as well. His eyes were always on Cameron. But she was tough, she could handle a little wound. "We both know you're little force fields won't level me again. You caught me off guard. But now, I suggest you get the hell out of here." Gavin said, as his irritation began to grow.
