Lakai took one of the spare rooms after Shikon left. She couldnt bare to stay in the bed they shared. He hurt her. Hurt her bad. She tried to keep up the tough girl front but on the inside she was always the same hurting little girl.

She sat on the floor in front of her full mirror She wore a skin tight camisole and track shorts. She stared at herself in the mirror. " You disgust me."She said to the reflection. She let her wolf claws form out of her fingernails on one hand. She dug the claws into her arm and barely felt it. Blood was forming and trickling. This time this didnt keep the voices from her head. The voices of her mother telling her how worthless she was, past boyfriends who used her. The tears started to run, running her think/dark eye makeup.

Rachel was roaming the city. She had to talk to Lakai, but she knew that Brotherhood would not hesitate to kill her if they saw she was hanging around the place. Silently, Rachel turned to a raven and flew up to the second floor of the building. She circled the floor and then spotted Lakai sitting in front of a mirror. She looked depressed. Shikon hasn't been around much anymore and Rachel didn't really miss him all that much anyway.

She landed on a windowsill and tapped on a window. She didn't want to alert the whole house about her presence. When no response came to her, she tapped the window twice. Come on, Lakai.

Lakai jumped when she heard the noise. She grabbed a pair of leggings off the floor to quickly wipe her face. After that she pulled on a hoodie and went to the window. It was Rachel. She sighed and opened the window. " I havent stolen anything from you and i havent thrown down any challenges. If you are going to kick my ass then just get it over with."

Rachel hopped into a room and turned into herself. She looked around a room and then took a seat on her bed. She wasn't there to kick anyone's ass. Well, maybe Neal's but she didn't have time for that. She turned to look at Lakai, she looked like crap. All crying and miserable. "I am not here to kick your ass," she stated simply. "I am here to give you a way out. I know that Brotherhood hates you now, for what they claim to be a traitor to their cause. Lakai, you never did fit into this group in a first place. Come with me, I can help you. You don't have to kill anymore, you don't have to be second best to anyone. Shikon is no longer here, you don't owe these people anything. You know as well as I do, that if you stay here, they will kill you."  Rachel tried to be sincere and she was.

She knew that if anything happened to Lakai, her sister, Loika would never forgive Brotherhood. She would blame them for everything that happened to her. And in process might even get herself killed too. Rachel couldn't let for that happen. "I can help you. Think of Loika, how do you think she'd feel if you died? Killing never suited you anyway. It's time to start fresh. Come with me."

" Where am i supposed to go if i leave here. I know they want me dead but i have no where else to go. Its not like i can go to my sister's. Xavier's would never let me in. And you dont give two shits about me..." She looked down. " Would it be so bad to let them put me down?"

Rachel sympathized with Lakai. She was indeed feeling all alone. Loika never hung out with her and Xavier's would not accept her most likely, after the stunt she pulled couple of months ago. Rachel really did wanted to help the young girl, she had to. If she did nothing, Lakai would end up somewhere bad and eventually die. She wanted to avoid that future. "Lakai, come live with me for as long as you need." said Rachel as she ignored her comments about Rachel not giving two shits about her. "I did care about you Lakai, because i know the shit you and your sister went through." said Rachel, leaning forward. "You don't have to come live with me if you don't want, but don't stay here either. If you haven't heard yet, Ackerman has lost all his marbles completely. He isn't like Shikon. At least Shikon wasn't killing senselessly. Neal has turned into a monster."

"Listen to me, Lakai. I know life is falling apart for you, i do believe me." said Rachel sincerely. "But dying just because you feel depressed is no reason do die at all. Join me, and we can take Ackerman down together."

Lakai's arm was bleeding through her shirt but she didnt feel the pain. She shrugged and rolled her eyes as she grabbed her duffel bag and started stuffing clothes in. "so if hes as crazy as you say, why not stand back and watch the world burn? I mean cmon wouldnt that be more fun for you? Whag does rachel mason get out of this?"

Rachel watched Lakai stuff her duffel bag with clothes. What was she thinking at the moment? "Lakai, I know that what I have done today, can never measure up to what I have done in a past. Not everyone is evil in this world, some just are scared and misinformed. There are good people out there who are just trying to live their lives out in peace." she said, her voice trembling a bit. "I don't want to see anymore suffering...enough innocent blood have been spilled already. There are little kids, who are not even seven years old dying. They shouldn't have to suffer because some crazy lunatic, like Ackerman decided that humans should be exterminated."

Rachel didn't know how to persuade Lakai into coming with her. Lakai wasn't a bad kid, she just got lost and now she was having hard time trying to navigate her way back on a right path. Rachel wanted to help her, because it wasn't fair for the kid to die, just because she took a wrong turn. "I believe people deserve a second chance. I was given one, and now I want to offer you a second chance. There is so much more to life than just killing, believe me. You can do so much more with your life. How much joy do you actually get from killing? It is very relieving as you kill for the first three times, but after tenth kill, you feel nothing." said Rachel. "I don't think killing as satisfying as going to--oh, I don't know--Starbucks for example. Come with me and I promise I will be there for you. No one will hurt you anymore."

Rachel sounded almost like she was begging Lakai, and in a way she really was. She didn't want Lakai to die. The girl had so much potential and she was wasting it all on some misguided cause that humans should be eradicated. "Rachel Mason doesn't get anything out of it, except the piece of mind knowing that Lakai will be alright."

Lakai didnt have much. Everything fit into the duffel bag. She stood up and shrugged. " Weither you or Neal kills me... i have nothing really to live for with Shikon being gone. So what would hurt going with you right?" She stuffed the last of her makeup and other items in the bag and lit up a cigarette. " Alright oh fearless leader. Let us go live happily ever after." She said sarcastically.

Starring around the room, Lakai sighted. "Trust me, there are hundreds and millions of people out there, you'll find someone. It might even be a human." she chuckled. Rachel wasn't worried about Lakai finding someone to love, it was her unpredictable nature that scared her the most. She watched her pack the last items into her duffel bag.

Rachel wanted to make sure of something before they left. She stood up and looked around, noticing a dresser with one swift flicker of her hand and the dresser was now blocking the door. No one was going to get through. At least not for  while. Then she picked up a chair. "You might wanna cover your face," said Rachel as she threw the chair through the window, shattering it to million of pieces. She pointed toward the only exit in a room. "After you," she said.

Lakai covered her face right before Rachel broke the window. She brushed broken glass out of her hair and nodded. " I dont feel like giving anyone my heart. I think ill hold onto it for a while." She said and hopped through the window. Like her sister she was naturally athletic and could handle more than the normal being. Hopefully she could handle anything rachel threw at her if she decided to turn on her.

Rachel looked at Loika. " I dont feel like giving anyone my heart. I think ill hold onto it for a while."
She nodded approvingly as she watched the girl jump down. "That's a good idea too." said Rachel, nodding her head as she walked over to the window and then jumped, turning into a cat just before hitting the ground. Her fall was broken by soft cat paws, therefore she was alive. Standing up as herself in human form, Rachel got into her car. "You wanna go grab something to eat?" she asked, turning on the engine. It was the least she could do for the girl.

"Pick any place you like."
