Thunder had loomed over head in the early evening hours of the night as a small girl walked the streets. Her hair tucked underneath a dirty torn hood, could not keep the tiny sparks that jolted out of it, hitting the brick walls as she walked past as fast as she could. She had to get shelter, she knew this, it was as simple as that. Already as she walked the street lights around her dimmed and burned out as if something was pulling the energy out of them. Now, the power was out in three blocks that she had walked since the storm had rolled in.
The weather was just off these last few weeks, first freezing and now a thunder storm, in the winter of all things. The girl pushed the sunglasses on her face up, making sure they stayed on top of her nose as she pushed passed another person on the street giving him a tiny shock to which he yelped out in surprise, unknown of what had exactly zapped him. Still, her pace quickened down an alley way, the thunder rumbling closer to her as she walked. The hoody she wore had sleeves that barely covered two large rubber like cuffs on her that seemed to be trickling with tiny silver flashes around them, conducting some kind of electrical impulse in the air. Finally though, she found a place to hunk down.
She crawled under a small rubber insulation that sat on the curb of the next corner she was at. As she looked back, she saw that the entire street and alley's she had gone down were now pitch black as the skies began to open up.
