Many years ago Xavier's school for gifted mutants was attacked. It was left in ruin. Teachers and students abandoned it with no hope of returning to it for sanctuary...

Years later a professor named Jason Andrews returned life to the school's halls and rebuilt its walls. Students have once again come to learn at the school in safety.

Many other mutants aren't quite so lucky. Some still remain hidden in the shadows and some within factions like the brotherhood are left leaderless.

Today was a beautiful day to be outside and the shifting Jessie knew it.  Instead of being a small cat like she usually was, today she decided to become the black Jaguar she loved to be.  Large, powerful paws, bright blue eyes and massive canines, she was sheer power and beauty as this large feline.  Still, she acted like a kitten, pouncing in the flowers and chasing insects like cats did.  She didn't care how silly it looked, it was fun and that was all that matter to her.

Jessie was a loner, loving to be in her shifted form rather than in her human because she didn't like clothing, had trouble remembering how to form proper sentences with her mouth because of all the years she had spent on the streets meowing instead of talking.  She was getting better with it of course, but when the day was beautiful like this, she was happier in a feline form.  Jessie could become any animal she wanted but stuck to small house cat or large panther or jaguar depending on her mood.

And so here was a large black cat, shinning beautifully in the sun light, destroying flowers as she pounced butterflies and chased birds.  She roared a few times when she missed the birds, chasing them was fun, she let the animal side take over.  It was fun and easy this way.  Life was good and simple.

Vitalè continued his existence, as much as he could that was. He found himself rather "marred" by the events that had transpired not all that long ago. He found himself now dealing with several "conditions" that he was forced to overcome and persevere, all the while he was forced to continue on with teaching his classes, balancing his professional career, hunting the vile filth of the night, and being one such filth himself. The sun beamed hot upon his fair and nearly pale vampiric skin, the blessing of his Juxtepositioning mutation allowing him to perfectly copy the human resistance to the sun's radiation, allowing him to appear and act as a human, avoiding suspicion totally. Though his proposition to have class outside on such a lovely day was perhaps not entirely suspicious, his desire to subtly prove himself was there, seeing as rumors of never seeing "Professor Vitalè" outside was now a popular rumor within the halls.

"Alright, now! I miei student! I know this is erm...strange but please pay no attention to the massive - ehehehe - panther playing with the...butterflies." He said, his students all laughing at the tomfoolery that was Jessie chasing insects. Vitalè could only laugh, though not at her, more at the fact she truly seemed to have no care in the world. What a wonderful and carefree life she must live. He turned around and noted a few of the students whispering. Thanks to his supernatural sensory, he managed to hear their comments about her being an idiot, or being stupid. Vitalè's violet colored eyes fell on them, his eyebrow arched as he stepped forward. "Oh? She is an idiot? She is childish and "stupid" as you say? Very well then, tell me Mr.Drew. What is the difference between a jaguar and a panther?" He asked, very causally, though the sharpness in his tone was enough to make it quite clear he was about to humiliate the young man.

"Well...eh.... they aren't from the same regions?" He would ask. Vitalè smirked and let out a little chuckle. The male knew that it was directed at him, and he began to shrink back, looking around nervously. Vitalè decided that he would be rather merciful, though he would ensure this never happened in his presence again. "Mr.Drew, I could call Miss Swift over here, and in an instant she would likely be able to list for me every...single difference between a jaguar and a panther, as well as be able to express the various differences in behavior and their hunting styles. She would likely be able to do that with several animals, even ones you've never heard of. You make idle comments about her in which are untrue. She is intelligent and in no way stupid...her knowledge and her behavior is geared more towards her mutation. She is having fun, doing as her mutation has her...just as an electrokinetic such as yourself accidentally fries a computer, or enjoys being out in the rain. I would not say that any of those things make you stupid...or childish. I would say those things make you YOU...just as THAT makes her HER." He said. He despised seeing children pick apart at each other. Especially mutant children, he looked to his watch and sighed, he had spent a little too much time making his point clear to the child.

"Well with that children I'm afraid we have no time left. I encourage you all to read the next chapter for class tomorrow. Before you all leave however I want you to take one thing from this class today. It has nothing to do with literature, but it has everything to do with life!" He said, all of the children stood but did not leave until after he looked over them all and finished his point. "The world will criticize you. The world will judge you and pick you apart for your gifts and talents. Mutants.... WE are hated and feared and we are isolated from the rest of humanity... why should we isolate ourselves from each other as they do to us? Do not isolate and pick apart at each other...for I promise you...Humanity will do enough of that for all of us. Good afternoon.... la mia famiglia." He said, even the children who did not speak his language were able to discern what he had said form the sheer likeness in sound. "la mia famiglia" or "my family" was as he had bid them farewell before he walked over through the gardens to sit upon a bench and cross a leg over his knee as he leaned back and watched his friend play with the insects.

Jessie heard Vitalè before his class had shown up, yet she kept pouncing, listening in of course while she did so.  She didn't stop, only listen.  She did glance and growl slightly in greeting after a minute and roared out when one student had called her an idiot.  She watched her friend and romantic interest defend her in an honorable way, purring slightly and she soon stopped pouncing and strolled over with a slender beautiful pace.  She was gorgeous in the sunlight as she walked over and stood next to Vitalè.  She growled out slightly, glaring at Mr.Drew, her eyes narrowing.  She almost felt like shifting out and into her normal form, nude, to make the kid think twice about saying anything bad about anyone again, but thought otherwise.

She wouldn't do that with her friend next to her.  She knew he hated when she did not shift with the outfit he enchanted for her on.  Once he dismissed his class, Jessie placed a massive black paw onto his leg as if to say hello and thank you.  She opened her mouth and licked his hand, winking at him.  She really did enjoy when she saw Vitalè.  More and more, Jessie found herself becoming infatuated with him, romantically falling for the mutant that was really her one true friend here.  He understood her, respected her and Jessie loved that.

Simply, she shifted out of her cat form, her body in the flower patches, covering her breasts and other goodies, leaving her shoulders revealed.  "Thank you for that."  She said, a perfectly formed sentence.  Something that Jessie rarely did.  She smiled and leaned over, kissing Vitalè on his cheek and smiled.  She blushed slightly.

"How are...you?"

She apparently heard everything he had said. That was alright, though he didn't do it because she was listening, he would have done it had she not been listening. She thanked him and kissed him on the cheek. Despite the burning heat of the day he remained chilled, as chilled as one could expect a dead man to be. He then smiled at her and shook his head. "Think nothing of it, it was my pleasure." He said as he sat back and smiled, one eye closed to keep the sun from blinding him. She then posed the question asking how he was. That was a...unique question in it's own rights. How does one truly answer that question. He decided it would be best to not divulge too much detail, but still answer the question. "I'm doing good. It's been an...eventful week to say the least. Time-Travel and werewolves, then we have the classes...as you can see those are going just grand." He chuckled, recalling the male's "bashing" comments. He never understood it... why turn on each other?

"Also has a crisis of faith in humanity, but it's back where it should be. It didn't leave, just took a two day vacation haha." He laughed it off as a simple joke. He found himself rambling now, that "crisis of faith in the human race" thing was probably just a little alarming, if Jason Andrews heard that he might have to explain quite a bit. Thankfully, Jason did not hear it.... or maybe he did. You never know with him...he could be anywhere, doing anything in any time. He looked at Jessie and smiled again with a little sigh. "And how are you Signorina?" he would ask, Italian accent still as thick as the day he got off the boat.

Jessie smiled at him as he talked, her body still hidden by the flowers so nothing was revealed even though she never cared about showing off her naked body for it was something she never saw as wrong.  She knew Vitalè did not like seeing her naked in public so she kept herself hidden for him.

"I am... okay... Learning to talk better without thinking."  She said and smiled.  She then began to think of a fun idea with Vitalè since their relationship had grown so strong and she was growing feelings.
"Vitalè....may I ask you a question? Do you like me...like a man likes a woman?  Because I am feeling butterflies when near you...Would you like to go inside and talk about it?"  Jessie asked and smiled brighter with white teeth showing.  She stood up, letting her naked body be shown and hugged him tightly.  She felt the butterflies float in her belly again.  She couldn't help but look into his eyes, her own eyes shifting to a beautiful oceanic blue shade as she did so.

"I think... I may love you."

"Ah, the dreaded butterflies. Though it IS possible that the butterflies you were feeling were the ones you were jumping after." He said, his humor not to deflect the situation, moreso to make it slightly more light hearted and easier for her to cope with. Though he noticed that she wasn't wearing the enchanted clothing that Niall had made for her, something he was only slightly agitated with, but nothing even worth noting. She hugged him and he chuckled a little before returning the hug, hesitating. As a rather chivalrous man he was not accustom to such interaction, though he would return the hug willingly. Her next confession however, made him a little hesitant. Her words were...

"I think... I may love you."

Well that was an unforeseen event. Though he was oddly joyed to hear this he couldn't help but feel as though he weren't entirely...there. In the moment that is anyway. Love for him was a touchy sunject, mostly because love was created form the desire to mate and several other hormones that work with the nurturing of ones psychology through their upbringing. The issue for him, was the hormones. He knew he could like someone, he knew he could platonically love someone, but romantically was slightly different. It may not be impossible...but it was certainly more difficult than when he was a living body. That aside he took solace that the girl only THINKS she MAY be in love with him. It means that there was the off chance that the poor woman wouldn't be at risk... bat things happen to those who love him, and those he loves. He learned that the hard way oh so long ago.

"I do like you... and I know exactly how you feel." he assured her with a smile as kindly and compassionately as he could. Maybe he did like her like that, maybe he did love her. But that didn't make anything any easier...it never did...

Jessie smiled at him, kissing his cheek again and then he looked at his eyes, slowly kissing his lips.  She held it for a moment and then released waiting to see his reaction.  Se blushed as she did it, feeling giddy and happy that she had finally kissed him.  The man who she felt most comfortable with.

"Sorry for not wearing my enchanting clothing... I was not wanting to shift out here. Let's go to my room.  And talk... Yes?  I will put enchanted cloths on.  Okay?"  She asked and took his hand again.  She then shifted back to her panther form, rubbing her large body against him and nudges him to the school as if to say follow me.  She began to walk to the inside, wanting to bring him to her room so they could talk and not have him worry about someone seeing her without clothing.  She would then of course put the enchanting clothing on.

She walked to the door and pawed it, unable to open them in her form and looked back to Vitalè and let out a whimpery like growl as if to say please open this.

It wasn't too hard to understand what the black cat wanted. He smiled and obliged as he opened the door for her and bowed his head. At time his Victorian nature was out-dated, at time it was too formal, and at other times (like this one) it had no real place. He stepped behind her and looked around her room as if hoping to gain some insight as to the woman's mind. Though he would confess...she wasn't exactly a rubix cube. Simple was better though, no surprises and nothing secretive or hushed. He sighed as he awaited Jessie's dressing and preparing herself for proper interaction.

"So Signorina, I hear you have recently taken to a class of your own, yes?" HE asked, using his hear-say down the grapevine. It would be interesting to see how well the student's took to her. He never doubted her, though he doubted her ability to retain clothing for that long. "You DO know you will need to wear clothing to teach them, yes?" he teased her with a smile and arms crossed as he leaned against the threshold of the door.

When they entered her room, Jessie shifted to her human form and shut the door, not caring she was naked in front of him.  She grabbed her bra and panties, the enchanted ones, and put them on before sitting next to him.  She listened and smiled.

"I have a dress.... to wear for the class.... I am teaching... art."  She smiled sweetly and went to grab the black dress she had.  It was a cute dress, covered her shoulder and went to her knees.  She then put it away after showing him it.

"Vitale.... I want to try... something... with you.... You love me yes?  Can We....uh..."  She began to turn red, never actually having a boyfriend ever but instead of using words, she leaned over and kissed Vitale's lips with her own, passionatly.  She began to push her tongue to his mouth, beckoning him to open his mouth for her to make out with him.  She wanted to make out with him, to show her love.

Well this was something interesting and altogether "enlightening" so to speak. Granted he was legitimately clueless as to what he was supposed to do in this situation. When they said he had a "silver-tongue" it was mostly in reference to his wording of things. He never thought that this situation would ever be able to surface again. The last time he was like this, he was an "American" college student and he met his wife. Not the best memories to distract one. Granted he found himself no better the second time around. His mind dazed over a moment before triggering and moving back after a few moments. he bit down his fang shooting out and piercing his own bottom lip. "CAZZO!" He snipped as he wiped his mouth, dark red blood oozing out like ketchup, unnaturally thick in viscosity. He had forgotten about the damn fangs.

"Sorry about that." He said as he slid his white sleeve across the maroon unnatural bloody lip. Now if there was doubt...there was a HUGE doubt in his humanity.

Jessie pulled away when she tasted Vitale's blood and heard his words.  She jumped back socked slightly, but yet she was also turned on for some reason.  "It is okay.... You are vampire.  It happens... I kinda of like it... I know you won't hurt me."  She smiled and pushed some of his blood from his face and stood up.  She grabbed a box of tissues and pulled a few out and handed them to Vitale, pressing one to his lip.

"You bit yourself hard.... Are you...okay?" She asked and put a new tissue to his mouth.  She looked worried but happy that she as able to kiss and make out with Vitale.  "Vitale....Do you think... we can... make love one day....?"  She asked suddenly, her eyes shifting to a curious green shade.  She placed her hand onto his, her eyes soft and full of passion.  "I love you, I want to show you that love.  I want to be loved like that with you.  You make me speak in full sentences... You give me a reason to be in human form.  I havd been so much better in life since meeting you my love."

Vitalè froze, a rush of predatory desire taking hold of him...and it was NOT the kind of desire Jessie was aiming for. His eyes began to glow red and a golden clock like insignia appeared on them. He let out an unsteady breath. She knew he was a vampire? Show the little kitty claws... come on. Just one more bite before we fulfill our bargain. He heard the dark voice. He closed his eyes. Within the confines of his mind he saw himself. A younger version, more gothic, vampiric looking if there was such a look. The younger Vitalè shook his head disappointed at him. Tick tock... was the last thing he heard before opening his eyes. His body was dead, no hormones, nor pheromones, nothing at all to give away anything less than surprise. "Ah...so you know? I figured my being able to go in the sunlight and eat garlic, be splattered with Holy water during Mass would have thrown people through a loop." He said, still unsure how she managed to figure it out. Sure the fangs gave away that his mutation was something of a feral nature.

Her next question was rather odd, considering that she was talking to a vampire. "Uh-y'-yes I'm fine thank you." He said as she awkwardly places a tissue on his mouth. He would have simply settled for finding a mouse or something in order to stimulate the vampiric regeneration, though this would suffice for now. He took the napkin and pressed it there. He had no fear of bleeding out, though he did fear making a mess everywhere. The next question almost made him choke. That one was out of the blue, almost literally. He looked at her as if questioning if he had heard her correctly. Just when he thought that it was awkward...what came next was even more so awkward.

"I love you"She began, to which He would not deny nor refute. She continued on. "I want to show you that love."Well this is awkward. He thought, not that the initive was not there, or the desire at times. The primary issue resorted form the lack of blood flow, the lack of hormone production and the fat that he was entirely undead. "I want to be loved like that with you."It is understandable, but my physiological condition is stil lsomething I need to research and overcome. When I figure out how it will be different."You make me speak in full sentences..."Cazzo che does that have to do with love? The dark voice within his head echoed out and laughed at JessieShut up."You give me a reason to be in human form."Yes...you make her talk, so she should totally be human. I'd like to think she kept in a human form, or WE sir are getting into some beastial shit I do NOT want to answer for at the holy gates--Silence Forsaken! I will hear no more of your prattle!I havd been so much better in life since meeting you my love."Awe, now I feel bad...for LETTING you get mixed up with a half-assed look alike of you baby mama. come on Vitalè. Why are you REALLY doing this?By the trinity I command thee to silence. He commanded, and the voice of "The Forsaken" silenced, absent from his mind once more. Not a second had passed since she ended her little speech.

"I know how you feel. I feel that way as well... as close as a vampire can feel. One day I will find a way to overcome the physiological adversity." He said as he stood up and looked to his lip. Still bleeding. He needed blood to close it, and he was not the kind to run around and ask if he could just borrow blood form students. "My identity no longer secret, I can admit that I need to return to my room for a blood bag, lest I never heal form this puncture." he said. If she decided to hand around that was well, if not he was certain there would be more area's of opportunity for them to talk.

"Vitale... you can have my blood.  It won't turn me right?"  Jessie asked, her right hand moving to her hair and pushed it away from her neck.  She smiled.  She trusted him completely.  She loved him.  "I love you, and trust you not to kill me.  Please take some.  I am not afraid."  Jessie said and leaned over to kiss him, taking his lips to hers and in doing do, some of his blood into her own mouth which she whipped away.  A soft purr began to emit from her throat as she looked at him and smiled still.  Her left hand took his and closed around it.

"I figured it out a long time ago, I just never said anything because it never bothered me.  You really have made....my life better."  She looked down for a moment and leaned closer, offering her neck.

"Go ahead.  Take some.  I want you to stay in my room with me.... for a while... to kiss... talk.... cuddle.."  She giggled a little.  "We have never really gotten close... before.  I want to lay with you my love..... Please?  I trust you, take some."  Jessie leaned even closer, her neck right by his mouth now.  She closed her eyes and waited.  "I don't mind pain, I like nibbles my love.  Besides, you have done so much for me...I can do this one thing for you."

I do not think she understands... He thought to himself silently as he smiled, a slight chuckle as he pressed against the lip. He had not fed from a living and breathing host for quite some time. He mostly relied on his tabooed Diabolistic (a.k.a Necuratism or Diablerie) and his "borrowed" blood packs for emergency regenerative purposes. Jessie told him all the ways over and under that she did not care, and that she trusted him. She wanted him to bite her.... "Absolutely not. I will not make a meal of you my dear." He said quite forwardly. No matter how much he cared for her, how much she trusted him to not kill her that did no good at all. He could not trust himself. With a blood bag he could drink it dry and would be able to calm his frenzy afterwards. With another vampire, he cared not for their life and so he just drank until they died and then devoured. But once he fed, he lost all concept of time. The darker, hunger within him took control.

There was a time, long ago when he had actually achieved his "enlightenment" of sorts. This enlightment was called "Golconda". A state where he had once mastered the hunger, the beast within him was not caged as it was now, but free and powerful. They existed as one in perfect harmony. No more blood, no more need for feeding, and no repercussions. He faltered though, and soon enough he resorted to Diablerie once more. Now when he feeds...it is the beast who rules him. "I am going to retrieve a blood bag. I do thank you for your offer though." He said as he turned to leave.

The hunger of a vampire was unlike any mythos one could have ever known. It shamed him to know he was once such a disciplined man. One who had achieved Golconda...and he let it all slip away in a moment of anger. This was not some fantasy where he could simply fight off his hunger to save her when he drank. If he drank form her...he would lose control...and she would die. There was nothing he could do. It would be the end of this chapter, and she would be but a memory... She could trust him all she wanted. But he did not trust himself, and though she would never know it.... he was right for doing so.

Jessie frowned when he declined and slowly let her hair go and nodded.  "Will you come back after feeding?  I want to lay with you."  She said and slowly shifted herself to the size of a small black house cat and purred softly at Vitale as he began to leave the room. "I'm coming with you." Jessie said as she shifted. She leapt up and onto his shoulder and let him carry her to his room.  She was not going to leave him.

Jessie didn't know what it was that over came her this day.  Sh couldn't bear the thought of being away from Vitale, finally realizing what love really was like.  It was the feeling of wanting to be with the one she loved, feeling like a part of herself was missing when he was gone.  She meowed softly, thinking that she could be with him all the time if he wanted for she was able to change into any animal she wanted,  Of course, Vitale knew Jessie preferred that of cat forms.  She meowed again and laid down, her claws holding her tight onto his shoulders by his shirt, keeping her still as he walked.
