Home Sweet Home (PG-13)

Opening a refrigerator, Peter took a look inside. There was no food, worth putting in his stomach that would feel him up and satisfy his hunger. He did not question what happened with Mackie and why he was alive. All he cared for, was his sweet perfect life, which Loika seemed to get under control again. It was just that, when life fell apart, Loika managed to get it all back up. Peter couldn't think of anyone else who would be able to do just that.

Walking to the couch in front of a TV, Peter wondered what he could do to pass the time. It was only 5:00 PM and he was sitting home on Friday night, who would do that? But Peter did not have many friends and so he was alone in a house. He wasn't sure where Loika or Mackie were, but surely they were having fun.

Loika came home with a couple of grocery bags of food. She could hear the tv in the other room and smiled. She set the bags down on the counter and slipped her shoes off.

 She walked quietly into the lving room and up behind peter. She gently wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed the side of his neck near his ear. "Hey baby, just got back from the store. Hope you didnt misss me too much."

Peter looked at the door naturally as Loika came in, carrying bags. He would have helped her if he wasn't so slow. By the time he would have gotten up, Loika already set the bags on a table. He turned toward the TV again. Peter wasn't interested in  watching anything, he was just bored is all. Sensing Loika behind him, Peter didn't turn around. She wrapped her hands on him and he smiled.  
"Hey baby, just got back from the store. Hope you didnt misss me too much."


Peter patted her hand as Loika kissed him. "I missed you tons." he said, thinking of what they could do. A romantic dinner perhaps? "Where did that little mind-reading rascal go?"

Loika smirked her mischevious way of smirking and came around the couch. She was wearing her signature ripped jeans with a tank top instead of her usual flannel shirts. Her hair was pulled back in a messy bun.

She stretched out on the couch with him and laid her head on him, checking out whatever he was watching on tv. " I believe she is off playing with her new little boyfriend. Some little boy new to the school. Silus i think is his name. We have the house to ourselves."

Peter didn't bother getting up. There was no use in it, since he was comfy. Looking at Loika as she took part of the couch, Peter smiled at her. She was always so beautiful in her torn up jeans, he wasn't sure he could contain all his love for her in his heart at once.

He wrapped his arm around her as she laid on a couch next to him. "A boyfriend, hmm?" asked Peter, looking at the TV. "Good thing she is going out, can't be around us forever either. Is having a house to ourselves' a good thing?"

Even being a mutant with immortality she still felt most secure with peter's arm around her. She smiled and relaxed. " you know most dads would be chasing down any boy who talked to his daughter. I think hes a good friend for he. He.... he finally has her openning up. She's been talking with her actual voice. Only around him but its still a start."


She smiled up at him briefly efore looking back at the tv. She didnt usually watch tv so she had no idea what they were watching. She was just happy to be with peter. " its a good thing to have the place to ourselves every once in a while for a little us time. Its good for mack to get out too. She cant stay sheltered forever. As much as i want to protect her from everything."

"Yeah, well...most dad's don't have a telepath for a daughter who can bend anyone to her will." said Peter, not looking at Loika. Mackenzie was a strong girl, even if she wasn't old enough. "Besides, she can always take care of herself. Can't protect her from everyone and everything. She has to learn to deal with her own issues. If the kid is from Xavier school I got no quarrel with him. She'll be alright."

Peter was watching a random channel not really paying much attention to it. "Well, having a house is good for us. Our little wooden heaven. "I was thinking of maybe taking a vacation. It's summer after all, we can go anywhere we'd like. Better yet..." he rose up off the couch a bit excited. "Let's take a airplane to...HAWAII!"  said Peter, clearly excited now. "I hear it's a real paradise. Maybe we can even convince Jason to take us back in time for some fun."

Loika sat up on the couch and laughed as she rolled her eyes at him." Yea hes a xaviers kid. You sure you want to go on a vacation? And on a plane no less?" She was surprised. She knew peter knew she was not a fan of teleporting but he had always found it funny the way it made her di,zy and ill. Maybe it would be vood to get out. She grinned mischeviously at him and threw a pillow from the couch at him.

Smiling, Peter reached for a remote control to the TV and turned off the black box. When there was no other sound but Loika's talking he looked at her again. "Plane's are fun," said Peter, quickly jumping to the next thought. "Of course, teleporting is free, and buying a tickets for a flight is freaking expensive but what the hell we've got dought."

"Hawaii...I've actually never been to the ALOHA state. Might be fun. Or would you rather teleport...I know how much you hate it, and I was trying to make it easier on you."

" Well now that you have all that figured out. Who is going to watch Mack? Or is she coming with us? Teleporting and flying i both hate but what can i do?" Loika stretched and yawned as she spoke sarcastically and smirked. She stood up and looked at him playfully.

" Yea... you know i hate teleporting and you still do it. Maybe we can play a game. Tag. You catch me and we teleport. You dont catch me and we fly. You game?" She was ready to shift and run if he agreed.

"There is always people to watch Mackie..." Peter trailed off. "unless, of course, she'd like to come." Peter had no problem with Mackenzie joining them for a trip to Hawaii...whatever they would decide to do. Peter brushed Loika's hair out of her face as he thought. It would be nice to get away but what if they couldn't. He'd always find a way.

"You want to play tag to see which method we should take. Hell, I honestly couldn't care less, but if you are game, why not." said Peter as he poofed into the air, dropping Loika's head on a couch. Oops.He didn't really mean to do it, or did he? "Come on wolf girl, let's go!" Peter taunted her.

Loika squeaked and squealed when she landed on the couch. " Dammit Peter you know i hate teleporting!" She yelled at him but she was grinning.

She flipped over the back of the couch and took off for the back door of the the house. It was kind of fun acting like giant children. She giggled as she tried to make a break for it. She quickly opened the back door that opened into the patio and shifted as she took off at a full run. " Catch me if you can pretty boy!" she yelled back

Peter looked at door as Loika dashed out to the yard and then to woods. Damn. Teleporting behind her, Peter began to chase her like a little kid. It wasn't fair that she used her four legs while Peter only got two. He would never be able to catch up at this rate. Unless of course, he teleported ahead of her and she ran straight into his arms by surprise.

"Ready or not, here I come!" he yelled out as he kept popping up at different locations. Each time he would reappear he was that further to catching her, until suddenly he landed in the woods. Carefully stepping on branches and leaves, Peter tried to make as little noise as possible. There was not going to be a surprise attack on him by his wolfy wifey. Come on, Loika, come and get me.

Loika was trying not to giggle as she run. She knew she had an advantage with four legs but he also had the advantage of teleporting. If anything he had the upper hand.

She looked around anxiously and started to slow down when she realized after a while that she could no longer see peter. Her ears perked and she looked around and smelled for him. Maybe she had taken things to far. Maybe he was mad at her. They had been fighting so much lately.

She started running again. She came around a bend in one of the trails and ran into him full force. It knocked them both down and they took a tumble in the dead leaves of the forest. When they both finally stopped she shifted back and looked up at him. Her pale cheeks flushed pink and she tried to smile at him. " Hey there stranger. "

Peter walked slowly, making sure his foot steps were masked by quiet ground. There was nothing in sight, other then many trees. Suddenly, from no where..like a train hitting another one, Peter was knocked off his feet and he went flying down to the ground. Scraping his pals and sides of his legs. Once he stopped, he looked up and saw Loika. "Dayum girl!" said Peter in amazement, "Where'd you learned to run like that?"

If Loika was able to sweep Peter off his feet like that, it made him wonder what else could she do that he didn't know about. "By the way, it doesn't count, you cheated!" said Peter, trying to even out the score. Quickly scrambling to his feet, Peter teleported next to her and wrapped his arms around her. So what if she was naked? She was his wife for Christ's sakes! He smiled at her and teleported back to the house.

Loika hugged him around the neck and kissed him. She loved this man more than anything. "Me cheat? Never. Im as perfect as a girlscout." She looked up at him and stroked his cheek gengly.shd enjoyed just looking at him."im sorry we have fought so much lately. I love you so much and i dont want to loose you. This vacation idea sounds perfect. We can get away and focus on us."
