A day in the park (pg-13 at worse)

Luke loved New York now that he was settled in.  Of course being a kid with powers was only the icing on the cake.  He lived at Xavier's School for Gifted Children, even though he really didn't want to.  He didn't have anywhere else to go, so it was his only choice.  He went out as much as he could to have fun and to cause trouble.

Typical teenage boy, he used his powers to tease girls, steal some money, phase through things, typical teenager things.  Today though, he sat on one of the many rock formations in the park with a large soda next to him. Today he didn't wear his normal suit, but instead a normal everyday teenager outfit.  He liked to "suit up" like Barney in the show "How I met your mother", he lived his life style after the fictional character.  Luke was from Russia and really didn't know much of the American culture so to say.  He was a shut in child.  So being outside to 'people watch' had become a very active activity of his.

"From Russia vith love!"  He yelled out loud and tossed some bread that was in his pocket to the pigeons outside.  He grinned as the birds flocked over.  This was the life.

Arabella was sitting alone at the park with a book and her Ipod. She sat on a blanket with her tucked under her like a lady. Next to her sat a thermos of tea and a baggie of dehydrated fruit. Her blonde hair fell over her shoulder and she would occationally push some of it out of her face.

She was concentrating hard on her book. She made the same face when she was playing cello. A small frown would form on her forehead between her eyebrows. She was getting to the good part of a story. She was also trying to make sure nothing came out of the book while she was reading.

As Luke fed the birds, is eyes glanced upon Arabella and he smiled a cocky grin.  Luke thought himself to be very handsome and was very cocky for a teenage male.  Seeing the blonde girl reading her book, Luke decided to play his game and try and make a new friend and flirt a little bit.  He stood up, brushed the crumbs of bread off his pants and walked over to Arabella with his thumbs in his pockets. 

Luke kept his cocky grin o his face as he walked closer and sat down next to Arabella and smiled.  He noticed she had iPod earplugs in her ears and so he waved to get her attention. 

"Hello, I don't mean to bother you but I must say that you are very beautiful an I vas vondering if you vould like to join me for a meal?  My treat.  My name is Luke."  He said and held his hand out to her.  He winked and kept his smile on his lips.

Ara was lost in a piece by yoyo ma as she read her book. She was listening to the smooth notes and reaching for a piece of dried mango when she sensed a presence next to her. She pulled one bud out of her ear and quirked an eyebrow at him.

Arabella was a bit of a spitfire personality wise. She rolled her blue/green eyes at him and smirked. " Who gave you permission to sit on my blanket? You dont even know my name and you are asking me out to a meal?" Her voice was thick with a british accent.

Luke liked women with a bit of spitfire in them and stood up, embarrassed that he had done such a rude thing by sitting on her blanket without permission.  He stepped off the blanket and shook his head at his own stupidity of embarrassing himself of being rude.

"I am sorry that vas very rude of me, but I am very direct and you are very beautiful.  I figured I vould learn your name and possibly treat you to a meal and get to know more about you.  How does anyone get to know anyone vithout talking to a stranger first.  Plus I've seen you around Xavier's.  So technically, I do know you in a vay.  I just never had time to catch up to yo to ask you out until now.  Seems like a great coincidence running into you here.  Perfect for asking you to lunch.  Vhat do you say miss...?  Vell could I get your name?" Luke asked and smiled his cocky confident smile again at her.

Ara had to hand it to the guy. He was very intent on getting to know her. She closed her book and set it on her lap then flipped her hair over her shoulder. "My name is arabella adair. Im visiting america from england and im actually moving out of the school. Im moving in with some other mutants." 


She tucked her things into her bag and turned her ipod off. " i guess i can grab some lunch since you seem so insistent."
