safe solution (nc17)

Loika sat in the bar they drank in before. She had left a message for shikon and she hoped he got it. She needed to talk to him now. She knew he wasnt with lakai anymore but she also knew he still cared for her. She had information she knew he would want to hear.

She nervously drank her whiskey on the rocks while she waited to see if he would show.

Shikon staggered into the bar. He had gotten Loika's message, but he had over slept. He seemed to sleep a lot lately when he wasn't working. He looked around the bar until he found Loika and walked over to take a seat next to her. 

When he sat down he double tapped the bar with his knuckles. A drink came sliding down which he caught and took a long drink from. He set down and looked at Loika. "So what is it you needed to talk about with me?"

Loika smelled him coming and still jumoed when  he sat down. She anxiously took a drag from her drink then looked around to see if anyone was litening o their conversation. Namely lakai. She was sure she would smell her before she would see her.

She set her glass down with a thud and let out a sigh of almost relief." I found a hospital willing to take Lakai if we can catch her. They dont care that she is a mutant. They just want to help. The trick will be catching her."

Shikon noticed Loika jump when he sat down and shrugged. He figured it was her nerves getting to her. He smiled at her.  "I'm going to need you to relax a little. You're wound tighter than piano wire. I already checked the area before I came in. Lakai isn't close from what I can tell. Anyways that's great new. Got any idea how we can catch her though? I can't hurt her Loika. You know that." 

She drained the last of her glass and set it down more gently this time. "I dont want to hurt her either. I dont know how to safely fcatch her without a dart gun. ence why ive risked my own neck looking for places to take her. My stress may be coming from the same source. Sorry for edgy ness. Im just trying to keep my kid sister alive and myself as well in the process. Shes pissed off alot of people. Id be amazed if she gets out of this alive."

Shikon drained the rest of his beer. It was the cheap stuff so he grimaced when he finished it and motioned the bartender for another. He turned around in his stool and looked at the bar with a contemplative look on his face. "Well she's going off her emotions. She feels trapped and cornered. What if we find her and set a trap. One of us can lure her out, and the other can use the dart gun."

Shikon opened up his beer on the bar and took a sip. "This shit is terrible, but it will certainly calm your nerves. Do you want one?"

She shook her head while thinking." No ive already had enough to take down a grown man three times my size. Better back off before the humans in here ger suspicious. My sister isnt stupid. She will sense a trap. Any brilliant ideas on that one?"

Shikon chuckled at her worry about the humans in the bar. He frequented this bar so often because these people didn't care. They were just looking for work. "Trust me when I say that the humans in here have seen worse, and not doubt done worse. They couldn't care less if we're human, mutant, or cats. They aren't paid to care at the moment so they don't."

Shikon signaled the bartender and shouted "Next round of drinks is on me." 
He listened while the bar room cheered. He then turned to Loika and smiled a huge smile. This was like a second home to him. The people were all good people. 

"Honestly Loika if we can't trick her. One of us will have to fight her. Tire her out so much that when one of us uses the dart gun she won't be able to do anything about it. If I had more time to come up with a better plan I would, but this is all I got at the moment."

Loika tensed when the men in the bar cheered. She was never going to be used to or okag with crowds. "She had done shitty things to alot of people including me. I cant hurt her trust again by fighting her. Im already going to hurt her by having her commited.  I cant fight her. Maybe we can do this non violently. I could invite her to lunch at mels...maybe drug her. Id need your help with transportation. I dont drive."

He looked at Loika and shrugged. At this point he figured there would be confrontation with Lakai no matter how they went about it. "If that's what you want to do sure. I can drive you to where ever you need to take her, but I won't take her alone. She'll tear my throat out." 
He sighed and finished his drink again. His tolerance was high, but he was still drinking the cheap stuff. He smiled at Loika.

The smile was  final dagger  her. She wasnt a fool and she was gifted with heightened senses. She leaned in and took his drink from him. She set it behind her on the bar out of his reach and forced him to look her in the eyes. "Shikon this is serious. My sister could very easily end up dead. You keep preaching on how much you love my sister. So tell me and tell me truthfully. Why do you smell like another woman. I can smell the intamacy from here. Ive been waiting for you to say something but its obvious im going to have to just ask."

When Loika took his drink he narrowed his eyes. Shikon was all for helping Loika and Lakai. Then she spoke, and his eyes turned ice blue. "Honestly Loika I went out last night and had fun, I didn't intend to get intimate, but I did. Lakai thinks I cheated on her anyway so what does it matter. She doesn't want me around or care so I stopped. I care about her and her safety. I do love her Loika but not in the same manner I used to. I stopped loving her that way when she went to rip out my throat.

Shikon took back his drink and finished it and two more. "So Loika if you want to get angry at me fine, you wanna tear my throat out too then go for it. But don't think I stopped loving her. Don't ever think that I don't."
He stared at Loika and felt anger welling up.

A growl rumbled in her throat that caused a couple of bar attendees near them to glance at her. Lakai had done some shitty things in her life but somehow loika always came to her rescue no matter what.

"She tried to rip your throat out because she felt betrayed. Shes also 15 YEARS OLD. You. Hurt. Her." Instead of taking responsibility for it you are crying to me in your beer. If you really love her then fight for h-" she caught the news out of the corner of her eye. The bartender had it on very low but her hearing pickes it up the same time her eyes. It was video of a very scantily clad very cut up girl shooting up a mall. The video had the quality of a cellphone "shit! Gddammit lakai what did you do!" She slapped a tip down on the bar for the bartender and grabbed her purse.


"If you cant see now how much she loves you thrn you are a fucking idiot. Shes fucking broken shikon. Im going to go stop her before police put a bullet in her head."

Shikon was listening quietly. There were images of Lakai flashing through his mind. It was his fault, he had owned up to it to everyone but Lakai. His train of thought was disrupted when Loika bolted from the bar. Shikon looked at the t.v. and threw money down on bar. He ran outside and found a car. He warped the lock on the door and hotwired the car. "Don't worry Lakai, I'll save you just like I have been doing. Just hold on a little longer."
