Complete Journey - (PG-13)

Jason sat outside with cup of Starbucks coffee. He had things on his mind, and he needed to let them out. Jason was departing from Xavier Institute as the headmaster and he no longer held reigns of everyone's lives in his hands. He didn't want that much responsibility. Except there was a small problem. Loika Faelith. This whole time she regarded Jason as a fatherly type and his leaving would surely not be easy task to understand.

Loika recieved a message from Jason asking her to meet him. Between work and her family being sick she was exhausted but knew Jason wouldnt ask her to meet him unless it was important. A million different worries raced through her head as she went to meet him. Instead of taking a car she walked. It took her a while longer to get there but she made it.

Her hair was pulled into a side braid. She wore ripped jeans and a button up flannel shirt under a jacket. When she arrived she could see the concerning look on his face. She knew he had been stressed out lately. Sara told her almost everything. She walked over to him and sat across from him with a tired sigh. " Its bad. Isnt it."

"Eh, it depends on how you look at it." said Jason. "But I see you are well-informed. So, I am not going to sugar coat it for you. I am leaving Xavier's, retiring should be the word I'd use. Not because of any dumb reason of what happened with Peter and Mackie, I am over that. I am leaving simply because its time for me to start thinking of me and Sara. I am sure she'll want to stay, but I won't. So, don't be angry at me for deciding that."

It hurt to tell Loika but it was better then just getting up and leaving without saying a proper good bye. Peter was going to find out sooner or later and it was best if he got the news from Loika herself then from someone else. "I hate to ask you, knowing you work at Mel's. But would you want to step in for a while and take charge of Xavier's. I'd hate to leave the school without staff. Seeing how it is already empty."

Loika nodded and avoided looking him in the eye while he spoke. She picked at a hole in her jeans. "Im not angry...ill miss you....peter and mackie will miss you.."  she slowly raised her head to look at him with surprise. "I can talk to mel about a leave of absence... im just kind of shocked that you want me to lead the school...i mean i dont know anything about leading anyone. What if the kids hate me? What if i do something wrong. Are you leaving new york entirely?Will we still see you?" She was starting to babble like she did when she got nervous.

"I don't know how long I'll be gone," said Jason. "The last time I left was for a very good reason and it wasn't as long--well, you know the rest. This time...I don't know Loika," Jason became silent for a while. He needed for Loika to understand what his reasons were for departing.

"I know you'll do great things at Xavier. I've seen you with Mackenzie. The way you take care of your daughter is exactly how you should take care of everyone else. This job might grow on you and you'll find out you actually like it, but don't the disappointments of life hold you down." he slid her the key across the table. "This will get you to the office. It's all set up for the next person who shall take charge of Xavier. You."

Loika slowly picked up the key and looked at it in her hands. She looked up at him with with worry. "Its an honor that you trust me jason. I just hope you wont completely dissapear on me...maybe you can stay in contact with me? I know i already have parents but you and sara are like a mom and dad to me. You are the only one mackenzie really opens up to. Either way ill do my best for the students."

Jason smiled at Loika once more. He knew she would understand him. She was a smart girl and could take charge of situations if need arose.

"Don't worry, I won't disappear on any of you. No matter how far I am, I'll always find you and my way home to Sara." It was all he wanted to talk to her about. Nothing else was on his mind. "You are going to do great. I have faith in you."

loika looked confused. " Find your way home to sara? Isnt she going with you? You cant leave her behind wherever you are going. It would destroy her." She was concerned for Jason and Sara. She took a waterbottle out of her backpack and took a nervous drink out of it. She never usually carried a purse. Because of her shifting she usually carried a backpack with extra clothes.

She sighed and put the cap back on the water. " I can do this. Its going to take some adjustments and a little learning but i will do it. I still have logan around here somewhere. Promise to stay in touch?"

"I promise," said Jason, smiling at Loika. He had no worries about how she should run Xavier, and Jason had no doubt that Peter was going to help her. After all, she was a wolf girl and wolves always get what they want. He stood up, extending his arms for a hug. "Keep Lakai under watchful eye, she promised me she wouldn't kill anymore. I don't know how long that will last."

Loika rushed to him and hugged him tight which was not usual for her. Jason and his family meant alot to her. She nodded while they were hugging. "You helped  out whatever you said to her. She isnt taking her meds regularly but shes doing alot better than before. Shes still spunky but shes really coming around. Ill keep an eye on her."
