Again With The Dragging! Thana??? (Thana/Shikon) R at worst

Thana had a habit of dragging him. She found him on the streets with a fever and a couple infected injuries. He had gotten into a small scuffle. He told her it was fine. She still dragged him to her place and took care of it. He woke the next morning bandaged and with lower fever. He had used his disease curse to grow herbal remedies for fever, infection and naesea. Brewing some raspberry tea nad sipping it.He was trying to slip out the front door to the hotel. This place gave him the creeps. He was suddenly gripped by the shoulder and his shirt. Yelping and saw Thana. "er...hi?" he said.

She seemed upset again. They were friends but he wasn't used to this kind of 'roof over the head.' she suddenly was dragging him along. "Thana? Hey! Again with this? Where are you taking me?" He cried out. she wasn't answering and a strange building was coming into view. It was a blur because they passed by plants and his hands wnet to his head. "no. No. Bad day. Bad day bad day bad day. Not the nature. Not the nature baddaybaddaybadday." He whimpered as she pulled him into the lobby of some place.

Shikon had been walking around the Brotherhood mansion for a few hours. Lakai was still passed out upstairs so Shikon had contented himself with fixing up things around the mansion. After a few grueling hours he was done with everything that needed to be fixed so he sat in the living room reading, but with the t.v. on as well. Another good bit went by, and he checked his watch, one of his bad habits. He felt that the day was going to be boring, that was, until he heard someone outside.

He kept sitting in the chair he was in. One leg draped over the side, while he held the book open on his chest with one finger. He looked lazily, yet expectantly at the door. Then Thana strode in dragging some kid behind her. If Thana was dragging a kid into the Brotherhood house he had to be a mutant or some kind of human on the run for something big. So Shikon sighed and closed his book with one hand making a loud slap sound.

Tucking the book under his arm, he put his hands in his pocket, and calmly walked over to the two. He did the same thing he did with every mutant that someone else brought in. Since he hadn't hand picked this one he was a little more skeptical than he should be. He took every inch of the kid before him. The kid looked like they haven't eaten in days, and on top of that he looked sick, Shikon could feel the heat coming off the kid. 'Probably a fever' he thought quietly to himself. Shikon still playing the imposing leader walked into the kitchen and brought back a glass with water in it as well as a banana. He held out both to the kid in front of him. He didn't bring anything back for Thana because she knew where the kitchen was. "Here. Take this and eat. Potassium will help with the fever. And before you can ask, no I'm not a doctor, but I can feel the heat coming off you as if you were the sun." Shikon then turned to Thana and waited for her to explain.

Thana had been running back to her apartment when she saw Neo leaving. She couldn't leave him on the streets, not after what she had just seen. Instead she had dragged him to the Brotherhood Mansion, somewhere safe. She knew immediately that Shikon wanted a reason for bringing an outsider. Thana was just glad it was Shikon that she saw first.


" He's one of us Shikon . I'm sorry I brought him but I couldn't leave him. Lower downtown is under lockdown by the MRD. I ran into one and got a chip. Shikon they are hunting. Not just normal finding us hunting. Find specific mutants hunting." She said getting her breath back. " Please listen to him Neo an sit. " she also said to her friend. " Tablet look at the tablet." Thana told Shikon thrusting it into his hands. " They want specific mutants. Elementals. You and Neo both are. They've already killed three of my friends downtown underground. I'm sorry I didn't ask but there was no time Shikon. " Thana said still trying to get her breath, her side still hurt terribly. She had already cracked the codes to enter the chip the MRD guy was carrying. Blueprints and names and mutant powers were on the chip now on Thana's tablet. " They haven't done this... Since they began hunting my family . Which means they want something."

Neo pulled back as his mind start jumping through the various stages his mind tend to fluxuate between when he saw the strange male. Though his hands lept back to his head. Makng him slightly lean. He squeezed his eyes shut. They wouldn't shut up. It was around the outside. He could feel them. Hear them. Somewhere in the grounds here too. They wouldn't shut up. He wanted them to all shut up. Despite the fact the wind was nothing more than enough to rustle leaves the trees nearest the building were scraping against the window. Shut up! Stop it! Shut up....stop talkign...I don't care...leave me alone... He thought but they wouldn't shut up. They were drowning out everything else.

He didn't even hear the man just saw hims sticking out a banana to him. He heard her as she spoke and then suddenly screamed out as one of his hands shot of his head. A pulse seemed to shoot through him as all of his anguish and feverish anger filled desire for all around him to just got quiet left in five words. "SHUT UP! JUST STOP IT!!" With a hard twacking of branches the trees outside from the branches to the leaves and everything else nature based nearby just stopped for all but a moment before resuming normalacy and he sank to his knees.

Whimpering before noticing the banana and hearing her speaking. "I already told you I don't know what that mutant crap you spitting around is. All I know is my parents didn't love me and hire people to kill me cuz of something call the mutant disease." He said unhappily. Slurring as he sank into Thana's side weakly. If it wasn't for her hold on his shirt he'd have most likely crumpled to the floor. He listened to them. Looking at the man. "Sorry sir. I don't mean any offense but I don't take food from strangers and I definitely won't drink something I didn't see poured. I can make my own poisons if I need to." His eyes looked up at him feverishly.

"Appreciate the thoughts but I'll be alright." He looked at Thana. "Where you drag me to this time. You know we are friends that does not mean Neo is Thana's personal play toy." He said unhappily. "Besides MRD or whatever they aren't won't be the first or the last people trying to kill me for being born...I'm used to it." She had mentioned them before he knew that. Whether she said it in this context or not he was feverishly grasping at possible major BAD shiz she mentioned that could have resulted in the dragging THIS time...all he came up with was that because she emphasized that alot. Remembering a line the man said about the sun or parts of it. "I wish I was on the sun...no nature there. It be quiet. Sounds peaceful."

Shikon heard Thana mention the MRD and while this kid broke down he rushed outside. When he got there he ran to the gate and checked the area. There didn't seem to be anyone coming and no one was around. He shut the gates and locked them. Any of the Brotherhood members could get in with the gate locked. He ran back in and shut the door turning the lock. Then he turned to Thana and took the tablet from her. She was right, they were out hunting. They were looking for specific powers, all of which were elemental. He handed the tablet back to Thana then turned and slammed his fist into the wall. Two fingers broke from the impact, but the wall was in worse shape.

"Those bastards. Those monsters. How dare they hunt us. I'll tear them from the very fabric of space and time."" Shikon took a moment and breathed. He walked to the kitchen and returned with an ice pack. He sat back in the chair he was originally in. Shikon motioned for Thana and her friend to sit. Although it wasn't so much an offer as it was a command. He sat there thinking and grew angrier as the time went by. "Why are they hunting us Thana?"

Thana listened to Neo and gently held him, holding him close to her as she saw Shikon punch a wall, leave and come back and order/gesture for them to sit. And she did so and gently made Neo sit next to her. " Neo I'm talking about what you have learned is your 'disease' we have it too." Thana explained to him, " And MRD are bad. Very very bad." 


Listening to Shikon she looked at him, and not knowing what else to do shrugged slightly. " I don't know." Thana answered, unable to look him in the eye , true she did have her suspicion but desperately hoped it wasn't what she thought it was. Technically she was lying but thought of it as more bending the truth, especially as it brought up her past.

Shikon breathed deeply again to try and calm himself. "Neo if you need somewhere to stay that it is safe you are more than welcome to stay here. I can have room set up for you to stay in until the MRD stop hunting us." He sat there and breathed again. It was hard to stay calm when you knew your kind were being hunting like foxes.

Shikon ran his fingers through his hair, and sighed. "I'll know if they hurt any of us, and if they do may whatever god exists have mercy on them, because I sure as hell won't. At least they know not to come here. If they set foot on the Brotherhood property they know they would lose more than they could gain. I'd make sure of it." Shikon stood up and walked over to the window. He peeked out the window, and seeing that there was nothing there, he went back to the chair and sat.

Neo reached into his pouch bag he never left anywhere without. Finding with ease the seed for the fever breaking herb...how he knew it...within it. He let Thana manuever and manipulate him. Not in much condition to fight plus a bit preoccupied. He pulled the seed out in his palm. Too feverish to bother doing it in his head. "Please grow for me..." He got out in a slur. The seed began to glow and then sprout. Extending within the light as it speed up and grew until it had created an herb for breaking his fever. He didn't wait to think about it. He put it in his mouth and under his tongue. Sucking on it as he slowly was relaxed by the hold Thana had on him. Not catching anything between Shikon and Thana nor the breaking of his hand until he blinked hearing his name. Where Thana looked right at him. So in slow motion much like a kid with his hand caught in the cookie jar he turned to look at Thana.

The fading fever induced fog was fading more and more, as slowly he turned his more focused gaze to her. He looked at Shikon as he heard his name again. Staring at the man as if trying to get a feel for him. Thana trusted him and he trusted Thana. Moving the herb to swallow his fever would lesson some. "Thank you sir...if Thana trusts you then I can trust you. Right? Thana doesn't trust alot so that must mean I can." He smiled a bit uncertainly. He was jumping blind into uncharted waters. He tried to process everything. "Brotherhood? Whats that? Thana is trying to unteach my brain and correct it what my family taught me. I'm not from the mainlands...all these things don't really make sense to me. Or are unknowns." He said softly.

"I think you've said MRD is bad before Thana. If they are trying to kill me then I will just have to make sure they don't find me...because I made Kakania a promise before humans killed her...that I wouldn't join her in death until I was looking like a mummy." He looked at Shikon. He seemed distressed. He wasn't sure what to do. "I don't wish to be a trouble sir...and I'm not really used to...well this. Any of this." he indicated the house and all of them hoping to clarify. "I appreciate your offer sir but..." He trailed off for a moment before looking at him in honest confusion or uncertainty. There was a catch right? There was always a catch to miracles and acts of kindness. Wasn't there? "Um...what do I have to give you in return? Things that are taken for granted like housing and safety rarely ever come free...least thats what I've learned. If Thana stays here then I'll stay with her. Thank you." He smiled gratefully at Shikon. Even if this was seeming surreal to him at the moment.

Shikon smiled at Neo who was sitting next to Thana. "Well I like to think you can trust me. You're a guest in my home right now, and as far as I'm concerned that means if anything were to happen right now I would protect you with my life. Just the way I am." Shikon flashed a genuine smile. It seemed that Neo was a little confused. "Well simply put the Brotherhood is a like a big family. Only everyone who lives here has a different power. From what you did a moment ago with that seed I can take some sort of guess that your power has something to do with nature. Must be why the MRD are after you, an earth elemental maybe?"

Shikon stood and walked back to the kitchen, he was easily visible from where Thana and Neo were sitting. He opened on of the cabinets and pulled out a white box with a red plus sign on it. Shikon searched through it for a few minutes before he found what it was he was looking for. It was a bottle of specialized headache medicine. Most mutants had a strong system so normal headache medicine didn't quite make the cut for them. This stuff wasn't sold to humans. He walked back in and handed the bottle to Thana. It seemed Neo trusted Thana so if Thana told him it was okay to take then he would probably take one. "Neo there's no need to call me sir. I'm only eighteen years old." Shikon gave another smile. "And you are by no means any kind of trouble, we take care of others of our kind here. You are more than welcome to stay and come and go as you please. Just like Thana is. And I promise there is no catch. I want you to be safe, so I guess there is one catch. The only catch is that you make sure you stay safe." Shikon grinned "If you have a problem feel free to come to me."

Thana smiled softly as she watched the interaction between Neo and Shikon and took the bottle he gave her and for Neo's sake opened the lid and poured a drop on to her finger and tasted it to make sure it wasn't " spiked." She knew it wasn't but knew Neo needed a bit more reassurance. " Thank you Shikon." Thana said to her mentor of most sorts. 


" Shikon do you have a computer I can use? Until I get a system going I need a computer to do.... Stuff." She asked and said to her friend, " I'm pretty good with tech so should be able to do a bit of digging if that's okay with you. Neo take this as well, it will make you feel better ." Thana said to him, pouring a cap ful. " No poison , it will make you feel better okay?"

Neo looked at Shikon as he spoke. Smiling tenatively. He would like to think that too but too often he had then ended up hurt. At least he hadn't said I won't hurt you I promise. So often he heard that line and ended up almost being a new smear upon the streets of New York City. He listened to him as he spoke. "I would rather no one else protected me with their life...I couldn't handle losing anyone else. Besides I'm really not worth that kind of sacrifice." He said softly. Listening to him as he spoke. "Family?" He looked curious and any previous emotions or thought process was gone. "Like those people with the small kids you see in Mel's Diner or on the streets?" He asked curiously. Family? He wanted a family who didn't want to kill him or hate him. That was like a holy grail of words from him what Shikon said. "What should I call you then?"

Listening to him a bit. "I dunno...its hard to tell. I'm always on the run because my parents usually have people trying to kill me for being born." he blinked a bit. Looking towards the door they came in. "I wish it was just earth...dirt would be quieter...its actually all that green and lively stuff growing from the dirt." he said in a softer voice than before. "My power is nature...its nature itself...I dubbed my gift Voice of Nature." he admitted. Why was he telling him this stuff? He normally got close lipped yet between Thana and Shikon he felt safe enough to talk about it.

He fell silent and listened to them interacting. Looking at him as he spoke. "Do you have a way to come and go that isn't covered in plants?" He asked hopefully. "I'll do my best to stay safe...I promise." he smiled and when Thana handed him the bottle and urged him to take the stuff he did so. He looked down. "Um...can people hear voices and not be crazy? Like the weird orb thingie or the super hero who runs really fast? Naturally I mean." He asked them both.

Shikon pointed Thana into a room next to the kitchen as a joke. Then he laughed and pointed upstairs. "Follow me. We have a whole command center filled with tons of tech. It was left here by our predecessors." He stood up and put his hands into his pocket, and he motioned for both of them to follow him as he walked and waited patiently by the stairs for them.

Shikon smiled, and then spoke softly. "Neo everyone is worth that sacrifice to me. At least everyone who lives here. And yes we're like the people at Mel's Diner. I'm like everyone's big brother in a way." Shikon thought to himself quietly for a moment and grinned like a child. "Gift of nature huh? Sounds like a great name for it. That's what I'll refer to it as from now on." Shikon had to think for a moment about a path that didn't have any kind of nature on the path. "Well we have the entrace under the Brotherhood that leads our storage at Dock 12. You can come and go through there. It's solid concrete." Shikon would have to show him the path at some point. "Well actually a lot of our kind can hear voices just naturally. Nothing to be ashamed or afraid of. It just comes with your power. Thana and I can't hear voices, but that's because our powers don't let us. You're special since you can hear the voices of nature." Shikon's grin grew, he was happy to have another member in the Brotherhood.

Thana followed Shikon upstairs, and looked as he opened a door to the computer room. It had almost everything she wanted. " So you have this and what? Dont know how to use it? You sure you want me to ?" Thana asked Shikon, walking over to the computers and startin them up. Pushing and pressing several buttons she started it up. " Oh and Shikon , if by some chance a guy called magneto comes. Do me a favour and don't let him know I exist." Thana said as she pulled out several computer chips from her be and put them in the mainframe. " Well I think I'll be able to use this gear pretty well. Thank you.." She said, still looking at the screens

Neo got up and scrambled after them. Taking ahold of Thana's sleeve...per their agreement for no skin touching...and Shikon's hand. Smiling as he readily accepted Shikon as big brother. He was a lot nicer than either of his biological big brothers. Plus if there was magic words shikon had used them several times over...and joined the limited list of people who Neo could never see as evil or doing anything wrong. That list consisted of Thana and Shikon. See...very short list. He listened to them talking. Looking up at him.

Nodding a bit when Shikon spoke of it. "More of a curse if you ask me. I can't go near central park for example without hearing a thousand voices plus in my head. Its overwhelming and while I can control the gift as far as unwither or grow from seed or dead plant...I'm more defensive or evasive with it...but the plants seem to react to my emotions. I can't control the worst part of it at all." He admitted. The worst part being hearing...feeling...nature's thoughts and feelings. "Like Thana punched a tree the other day near me and it made me hurt right in the equivalant part of where she hit it. By accident...its how she learned how in tune to nature I am." He said sheepishly with a slight giggle.

He let go of Thana's sleeve as she moved towards the computer consoles. Pointing to his torso where on the tree trunk Thana had punched it. "Felt like she punched me." he finished with. Looking at all the weird doodads and gizmos. "More magic boxes..." he muttered. Though Shikon said it wasn't abnormal. Looking at him as he spoke. "Does hearing nature's voices...does it have an off or mute button like the picture boxes thana calls television?" He asked hopefully.

Shikon nodded when Thana asked him not to mention her to Magneto. Shikon didn't really care for the old Brotherhood leader. As far as Shikon was concerned he had abandoned them, and he was disgusted by it. Shikon let it clearly show on his face that he didn't like even hearing Magneto's name. He watched Thana while Neo spoke to him, Shikon had let him hold his hand, as he thought of Neo more like a child. He acted, and spoke like one, and Shikon was older. He accepted the role as an older brother to Neo whether he liked it or not.

Shikon pointed to a place for them to sit while Thana worked on whatever she was doing. "Neo it's really not a curse, you give life where humans and mutants take it. I think that's beautiful in itself. I can find someone to help you train your gift so that the voices don't hurt all the time, and you can tune them out. I don't know if it has an off or mute button per say." Shikon smiled gently at Neo.

Thana only half listened i the two boys speak, she was more focused on the computers and tech in front of her. She pulled up a seat and put one knee on it and kept typing, " I'm creating a hotspot and setting up the cameras in the city ." She explained, looking to her left as several of the screens turned on with camera vision live from different points in the city. " There's all the main parts of the city, we see what they see." Thana explained, " Plus a few areas they've forgotten." 

Thana kept typing away, "you two shoul go chill, im going to keep an eye on things and screw with the MRD telecomms and give our kind  as many warnings as possible." Thana said to both of them, looking intently at the screens.

Neo looked at the place Shikon pointed for them to sit. He hadn't let go of his hand until Shikon indicated a place to sit. He moved to sit there and waited to see if Shikon joined him. He made a face a bit. Looking up as anyone who could notice subtle changes would probably catch the times his mind jumped between the mentality of a 5, 10, or 16 year old. His eyes looked at him a bit with more maturity like a true sixteen year old after thinking over what Shikon said.. "I never thought about it like that. I guess the biggest part of my gift...is really beautiful and cool. I like to give life to plants but I just don't like hearing and feeling nature's thoughts and pains. I would like to learn not to have that part bringing me to my knees or overwhelming me. Thank you Brother Shikon." He admitted happily though he also gave a slight sigh.

He moved his legs to the chair a bit. Hugging his knees as he stared at him. "I wish it had a mute button...I think this mutant disease...gift...curse...whatever it is won't be so bad now. Since I have Thana and Shikon." He smiled a bit more. Hearing Thana say something about leaving her and going elsewhere. "We are sitting over here...I won't leave you. I don't want to." His eyes lost the maturity he'd held a moment ago yet didn't seem as childlike as before. He hid his face and was silent for a few minutes before he lifted his head and looked at them both very seriously. "Thana? Shikon? Don't die...I forbid you both to die." He said so seriously it was almost comical.
