Jean had been checking on her patients and finally released Jenica. She was still trying to figure out the best way to get those bangles off Skye without causing her more pain. When the email alerting the X-men came in from Fury she was a bit surprised. Reading its contents over thoroughly she smiled. Always good to have more to the family. Standing up and rinsing her hands off of the cleaning chemicals from earlier, she made her way into the living quarters area of the mansion. Knocking on Jeff's door a couple times before calling out. "Mr. Belinger? My name is Jean Grey. I'm here to give you a complete tour of the school." She called out in a kind yet audible voice. She waited now as she knew  the man was inside as well as probably already ready for the day.

Jeff had finished unpacking only a few minutes prior to Ms. Grey's arrival and had been inspecting the comfort of the leather lounge chair in his room. The door knocked and a soft and amicable voice came from beyond the door, calling to him.

"alright then, let's get a good look around" Jeff said as he lifted himself off the chair. He had taken off his soft leather jacket off, his suede, cotton and denim cowboy attire. Jeff opened the door to a beautiful red headed woman. His first impression was that she had a very powerful force of personality, but an amicable one.

"My name is Jeff Belinger, obviously you already knew that" Jeff presented himself, tipping his cowboy hat to the lass.

Jean looked at te man who opened the door. "A pleasure Mr. Belinger. Would you prefer I called you Jeff?" She asked with a kind and warm tone. "Yes I did. As you probably heard this hall is full of different rooms." She led him down the hallway until she got to a set of stairs. "Up these stairs is various classrooms, Xavier's office is up there as well. Should you need to see either the Headmaster or Deputy Headmaster the office is one you can't miss. Its extremely spacious." She led him down the halls again after he'd had time to register what she'd said. Leading him into the main area. "This is the area you most likely saw already. The kitchen and way to the grounds is to the left. If you are hungry we can stop by the kitchen and grab you something to eat?" She offered.

"You can call me Jeff, sure. I think I would like something to eat. Good sandwich wouldn't be much trouble, I have this mean mean sandwich I do that's really good if you have some smoked meat" Jeff mentioned, his stomach reminding him of his hunger.

"If I am to stay here. i'm going to have to pull my weight around here. I worked on a ranch for the first part of my life and was a cavalryman during the American Civil War, I was in charge of training recruits for mounted combat as well as training horses for battlefields" Jeff said as they continued their way towards the kitchen. "I was told you folks got a stable, hence my interest in perhaps teaching the youngins to ride a horse, always thought that men and woman needed to learn three things in life: learn a job, learn how to cook and how to ride a horse, although today it's more 'bout learning how to drive a car" Jeff chuckled.

Jean led him into the kitchen and held the door open for him. Listening and giggled a bit as his stomach seemed to have the same agreement as her own...it was lunchtime. She looked at him as he spoke. "Smoked meat? On a sandwich? Now I'm curious. I shall see if we have any." She said with a smile and began to search through their meats until she found a bag of smoked meat. Just enough for a few sandwiches. "If smoked meat is something you are into I'll make sure we get some more in stock. Will this be enough for your sandwich Jeff? Anything else you need?" She asked. Showing him which cabinets held condiments, noodles, and where the fruits or vegetables were. The oils, plates and silverware. Slowly so she didn't go to fast.

Afterwards listening to him as he spoke on what he used to do and what he wished to do. "I'm not Deputy Headmistress but I see no reason why Charles or Scott would have any issues with that. I think its a great idea." She said with a bright and warm smile. "I think the students and even some of the professors or adults here would enjoy learning to ride and care for horses." She said in agreement. She would love to relearn to ride a horse.

"That's good to hear. Farm work builds character and makes for a great way to come a bit closer to the roots of what the "Good ol' American way" used to be." Jeff said, looking through cupboards for Rye Bread, which he managed to find, to his surprise.

"Right, now for this sandwich, I learned of this back in Montreal, when I decided to take a visit way up north to see the greater North America about 70 years ago. I was told that if I wanted to eat a sandwich, there was this hebrew delicatessen butchery I had to go. Now the sandwhich in essence is simple, but their smoked meat is premium quality using a secret recipe to smoke their beef" Jeff continued as he picked up a 1 liter pot and filled it with water and placed it on the stove. Jeff then picked up a steaming basket, leaving the water to comes to a simmer while he went to cut a few slices of smoked meat.

Jeff then placed the sliced smoked meat and the rye bread into the steaming basket for a minute. He picked up the bread and meat out witha pair of thongs and placed them on a cutting board, mustard having been picked out from the fridge earlier witha  butter knife on the side. Jeff spread mustard on the steamed bread and then added the meat and polaced the other piece of bread on top and cut it in half, giving one half to Mrs. Grey.

"Classic Montreal sandwich. Its been one of my favored light lunch and dinner for the last 50 years. Its best accompanid with a few slices of pickles, lenghtwise"

(sorry for the delay. I wanted to make a good post back to you. Hope this is worth the wait.)

Jean listened to Jeff as he spoke. He had some interesting view on life. She had heard similiar things out west from people in states like Texas, Arizona, Idaho and even Oregon. She'd never lived in those states long enough to learn what that meant. She'd seen many examples of it when she was traveling. "That sounds like a great way to explain things. I wonder if in the roots of the good old american way...if humans would have been more understanding towards people who are different." She said thoughtfully. Falling silent soon after though and came closer. Staying out of his way yet listened intently as he spoke a bit. Her realization that he was like Logan came in the way he spoke about time differences. She hadn't been to Montreal before. Went to England a few times with Charles

Watching him curiously as he stuck not just some meat but the rye bread into the steamer basket. "Why did you steam the bread if you don't mind me asking?" She asked in curiousity. It was smelling really good but steaming the bread was a first for her. She got him a plate for the food and watched him as he worked on the sandwich. She had to admit he made a better simple sandwich or quick sandwich than she ever had. Her eyes seeming to shine a bit with excitement and awe. She blinked then smiled brightly. "Thank you. You didn't have to share your lunch with me." She said gratefully and kindly.

Taking the offered half of the sandwich. "It looks delicious. You have great skill making these sandwiches." She smiled a bit and took a bite. Her eyes widened and her whole face lit up. Pulling the sandwich away she was bombarded with a variety of flavors. Swallowing her bite she looked at him. "This is...really delicious. Thank you for sharing it with me." She telekinetically levitated herself a plate to place it on. Soon moving and went to the table to sit down and eat the sandwich. "Classic Montreal. I think I have a new favorite sandwich." She said after a few more bites. "While we eat could you tell me more about horses? Your experiences with them? Have you ever had to teach someone not to be afraid of horses?" She hoped she didn't bombard him with questions. She really wanted to learn more herself and she was going to personally talk to Charles about making the horse riding and care or farm work class(es) for the students and even professors to take. Everyone could benefit from that class.

"steaming the bread is just part of the making. its tradition. course, you could serve it as is, but its not a bread you want to toast, at least, not for this sandwich." Jeff said, taking a bite into his lunch.

"Well, I guess back then, if I wouldn't have been discreet about my gift, I woulda been hunted down, being called a warlock, a devil or something in the likes. I mean, I am a man of God myself, It would be seen as either being wizardry or a pact with the devil or something along those lines. Imagine some young girl would suddenly found herself capable of making and controling fire out of her whim, she'd be called a witch and hunted down. No, in that time, I'm pretty sure mutants would have been hunted down, but not for the same reason, more for theological reasoning more than for genetic purity." Jeff continued, watching the outside from the window at the sink.

"Now as for horse, my experience with them is varied. I tamed and trained them for farm work, as civilian mounts, war mounts and military work. Horses take time, but nearly all horses are tamable and ridable if given enough time and proper care, however, training men to care and ride horses is another entire different story. Horses are large creatures, its normal to have some fears when inexperienced, but all is learned in time, and since I have essentially all of the time in the world, I have patience and experience to make a rider out of desperate cases, and if they still don't want to ride, they'll be able to at least be around horses and be care takers for them. Fear is a product of our instincts telling us something is not safe for us, its a survival tool. And as all tools, it can be adjusted to make one not consider something as fearsome" Jeff said. He took time to finish his sandwich before it went cold.

Jean listened to him as she continued to eat her food. Looking a bit saddened when he spoke. Though it wasn't any better than now at least it had a somewhat better reason than the reason mutants were hunted today. Biblical reasons were one of the strongest reasons there were for many things in the course of mankind. "Mutants are not the ones that mankind should fear." She said softly. "It seems no matter the time period our kind has very few people outside our own who would accept us. Most of the ones who would do so for cultural or religious beliefs." She said softly.

Listening again as he spoke on the horse training. "You seem to really enjoy the horses. I am sure there will be others who will gain that passion for them that you hold. Just from learning from you. Thank you again for sharing your lunch with me Jeff." She said with a smile as she finished her sandwich and carried her plate to the sink to wash it.

"No problem, I think I can understand why mundane folks would fear us, I mean, good example would be those vilains like Hydra and that country ruler in that suit of armor, Doctor Doom or something? At any rate, what I mean to say is that power in the wrong hands, or the wrong minds and intentions, can cause a whole lot of harm" Jeff said as he picked up the kitchen tools and started washing them in the sink.

"I think people are more scared of what would happen if say people like us would end up in terrorist cells, like Al-Quaida, or ISIS, now that'd just herald doom on us all."

Jean listened to him as she began to wash down the counters after she finished washing her plate. Listening to him as he spoke. "Yes. Thankfully Hydra was taken down and I don't think they have a strong likelihood of bouncing back. The Brotherhood on the otherhand already has." She said softly. She had hoped Magneto's disappearance would mean he was gone for good. Unfortuantely the destroyed Cerebro had shown otherwise. Completely annihilated actually. She listened to him as he washed the kitchen tools. "Yes. It would. Though there has been rumors beyoung that there are mutant factions that are just as bad as Al-Quaida or ISIS. Then there is M.R.D. and whoever is really running the show behind them." She had suspicions. Flickerings and things but she couldn't be sure.

"Alright then, I'll see what I guess that's enough of this kind of talk. I'm a bit tired from my day today, with all the things I had to go through over the last few days with S.H.I.E.L.D. and all, I think I'm going to go to rest for a couple of hours until dinner time" Jeff said, putting back the rest of the dishes away.

"I'll make sure to find you when I'll be ready to have a talk with Mr. Xaviers for a position as a ridding instructor"

Jeff gave her a salutation and left the kitchen.
