The one that got away (Shikon, invite only . Rated NC17 )

Shikon had taken his time getting to the train station. He walked casually, but the few people he did pass stepped to the side. When you walk with a purpose people tend to move away from you. He got to the correct place that Thana would enter the train from, and he searched for her. It took him a few minutes to find her with her cloak on. He checked his watch, only twelve minutes before the train arrived.

Shikon calmly walked over and sat down next to her without looking at her. "And to think you were going to leave without telling me goodbye. I'm a little hurt by that Thana. Told everyone but me bye. Not fair at all." Shikon kept a smile on his face. After all this was a friend not an enemy.

Thana didn't move but only tensed as she felt and heard Shikon. " I'm not one for goodbyes Shikon." Thana answered, still staring ahead. "Why are you here Shikon." She asked, still not moving. The train station was almost empty, but at this time of the morning it was understandable.


Thana hadn't wanted Shikon to be here, and hadn't wanted him to find her. She wasn't sure how he had done it but he had. And that annoyed her, she had wanted to leave without Shikon knowing.

Shikon chuckled. "Not one for goodbyes? You sent everyone a text." He held up his phone. "You know Neo doesn't understand how a phone works. He wanted me to read it to him." He whistled and laughed a little. "Honestly, if you wanted to be discreet you could have, oh I don't know, ditched the tracker in your bag that you took from the house."

Shikon stood and stretched checking his watch. "Train should be here in a few minutes." The tone in his voice changed from fun and light to serious and stern. "So why don't you tell me why you're really leaving Thana?"

Thana looked as Shikon held up the phone, and said nothing. Then she heard his serious question. "I'm a runner Shikon. I never stay in one place too long, I have too much baggage here. I need some time away from things." She answered, telling the partial truth. The real reason was she had her story compromised, and mainly by Shikon by him being at the fight between her, her brother and Stormborne.

"I have to go Shikon, get away from everyone." Thana re stated, checking her iPod again. Nine minutes until the train arrived.

Shikon shook his head. "Thana you may be older than me by a span, but believe me when I say you might be the shittiest liar I've ever met." He shot her a look from the corner of his eye. His eyes had shifted color, they were now the ice blue that he had when something angered him. "A chair could pull off a better lie."

He looked away and sighed. "If it's about whatever happened at that fight, and about you lying to me about where you came from then get over it. If you felt the need to alter your life to someone you didn't know I can understand that." Shikon turned to face her a serious look on his face. "But if you think I'm just going to let you leave without giving me answers you are so far from the truth."

Shikon turned back around slowly, rage was clear on his face. "Except it is my business Thana. The people who come into my home are my business, they are my friends just like you are." He spat onto the tracks where the train would arrive.

"I don't really care about causing a scene. I desrve answers Thana, and I want them. If you wanna leave fine, but not until I know the whole truth." He looked Thana dead in the eyes. He made it perfectly clear he wasn't going to let her just walk away from it all.

Thana glared at Shikon and stood up, and turned to Shikon. "Last time I heard it wasn't your home any more, it was Magneto's. Secondly you don't deserve answers where there are none!!!!!! Don't you get it??? I hide my past for a reason!! I'm one of the keys! I am part of the MRD even if I don't want to be, I am and was the perfect soldier. I have killed and fought and slaughtered both sides! Its how I was raised. " Thana said, telling him only part of the whole giant picture. However it was much much more then she had ever told anyone before, and was a giant part.

All around seemed to go quiet, and Thana saw people disappear very quickly. Probably because she was angry and had lost control of her emotions, thus. Her gift had become visible and blue swirls of energy were flowing around her. In anger Thana directed it towards Shikon and hoped she hurt him.

Shikon got blasted by a blue wave of energy. It knocked him off his feet, and he landed the wind knocked out of him momentarily. He regained his composure quickly and gave Thana a horrible look. He spat to the side and a red blob came out staining the ground a dark crimson color. "It is my house. Just cause that old bastard Magneto came back doesn't mean anything. If he threatens the home I've built I'll kill him just as easy as I'd kill an M.R.D. thug."

Shikon popped his knuckles and stared Thana in her eyes. "If you think your past is going to make us hate you or run you off then you're wrong. So you're a key, so you killed plenty of people for both sides. I don't give a damn Thana! What matters to me is your safety, you're a part of the house, part of the family. Don't you understand that? All I'm asking for is answers." Shikon had started to raise his voice a little. And with his anger came his powers. His arms flared up in case Thana tried to throw her powers at him again. He would be ready this time.

Thana glared at Shikon as he got up . "You should of stayed down." She snarled, refusing to listen to him. "You didn't say no to him when he came back, do you even know how to defend your home??" Thana said to him, her swirls of energy all around her. All ready to attack in an instant.

"I don't want to be part of your house Shikon! I joined because  I lost a bet against you not because I wanted to!" She yelled, noticing that it got very quiet. None of the trains came, and Thana looked around her. "Shikon.      Get .... Down." Thana said in a very low voice, "Get down  NOW." She all but whispered. Thana knew why the trains weren't coming and why everyone was gone.

Not having a choice Thana stood in front of Shikon, and faced the main entrance. "DO IT!" She yelled at Shikon, and looked as dozens of MRD swarmed in. Thana was good, as was Shikon at fighting. But there were too many at once, unless..Unless she lost it. Thana waited till Shikon did what she said, one way or another he ended up on the ground. Thana didn't know if she pushed him or if he simply did as she said. But he was below her, which was what mattered.

"No. NO YOU DO NOT WIN THIS TIME!" She yelled at the MRD, summoning a large part of her power and letting it take over her. A giant blue orb appeared in her hands and she knelt and created an energy force field around her and Shikon before managing to stand up and throw her power as hard as she could. Creating a tidal wave and sending it through the MRD that kept swarming. All at once as soon as the energy field hit, the MRD fell to the ground. Thana kept the tidal wave going, until they all fell before collapsing to her knees. The train station destroyed, and the MRD all dead. She remained kneeled on the ground, her energy gone. She stopped her gift and held on to what small amount of energy she had left, but was too exhausted and simply let herself fall back to the ground sideways.

Shikon had ducked in time and watched as the blast killed every soldier. He shook his head as he caught Thana and set her down gently. "Christ woman, you really know how to throw a party don't you?" He smiled at her, all the ill-contempt he had was gone. Shikon didn't care if she stayed or went. She would always be welcome at the mansion. "Next time save a few party favors for me too kid."

He looked around. Bodies scattered everywhere. Too many to burn, and too many to get rid of. He looked at Thana and sighed loudly. "You don't have to tell me, and you can go as you please. Just remember you're always welcome at the mansion. You're like a sister to a lot of the mutants there. Take care while you figure things out, and if you need anything. Whether it be money or just a postcard saying 'hi' don't hesitate to call on me." Shikon had planned to let her leave anyway. He had also prepared a little present for her. He pulled a wad of money out of his pocket. It was rolled into a tight cylinder and held that way with a rubber band. When Thana had a chance to unroll it she would find close to two grand. He set it down next to her. "A going away present. And before you refuse, I won't let you." He smiled again and turned to walk away.

Thana sighed as she felt Shikon catch her, and sat back up. "I want to tell you but I can't....It's too dangerous." She said to him, "Lets umm not tell anyone about my little party trick..please." Thana said, looking at him as he handed the cash to her but refused to take it as he turned to walk away. "Wait.....Shikon." She said, getting up and catching him so he had to stay in front of her.



"I can't go now....But I can't come back to the brotherhood, not yet. I have some things I need to sort out Shikon. I'm only a danger to others right now.. I don't need the money Shikon, I have all the money I could ever want. Thank you but use it for something or someone that needs it. I ...I just need time.. "

Shikon smiled, and tapped his nose with his right index finger. He turned to face Thana. "Thana two things; First off, you only endanger yourself when you alienate yourself from the people who want nothing more than to help you, like me or Neo. Second; if you ever used that brain of yours for anything other than fighting, you would notice that there's something wrapped up in the bills." Shikon pointed at the roll of bills in her hand.

If Thana turned the wad on its side or opened it she would find a new cellphone. Nothing fancy, but it had something most phones didn't. It couldn't be traced by anyone but Shikon. I want answers Thana, you act like I can't protect myself." He laughed at that point, he wasn't the strongest mutant out there, but he was certainly up there. "You seem to forget who beat you, and who gave those M.R.D. punks at Central Park a real beating. I can handle myself, so if that's your reasoning for not telling me the answers, then stop. If there's a reason other than that such as you just can't tell me because you aren't ready to tell me then that's fine. I won't pry for that reason, but it being dangerous? That's a joke Thana and you know it. Every mutant constantly lives in danger, and fear for their lives. All of us. The only thing that keeps us sane along the road is the friends we make along the way."

Thana smiled softly, and watched Shikon tap his nose before looking down at the wad of cash. New cellphone. She smiled, "Thought I was your tech geek." Thana commented wryly, but took it and tucked it in her jacket.

Looking around Thana looked at the destruction, the destruction she had caused. And looked at Shikon and nodded, "I will contact  when I am able to talk. I need to fix some things up first Shikon......Thank you." Thana said to him, putting her cloak over her. Now she had to go, and so would he. "Look after Neo until I get back." Thana asked, walking out and disappearing like she always did.
