To the remark, Chris laughed a bit taking it for the compliment it was meant to be. He took them where he could find them and from his future brother-in-law, with luck that was, even more so. "Well, I'm sure we have some guys in the department that might take you up on it. Good men, too. Hard working, and someone soldiers like us can respect." In all honesty, Chris hadn't heard much of what Alec had told his sister and shrugged when asked. He could tell Alec was nervous about it, but the blonde man could trust Chris with anything. "Just you saying it was going to get better - and I feel the same."
Arabella's bad days were common to him, but he still worried for her. He couldn't help it as it was just who he was to worry for those he loved. Moving over to her, he leaned down and kissed her softly on the forehead only to hear a female voice behind him. Turning around, he felt as if he was looking at a reflection of Arabella - a cracked one that was different in several ways, but family just the same.
Chris glanced over at Alec with a raised brow, keeping his opinion on her words of his dignity to himself, not finding any fault in the man's personality or sexual choices. Alec had done more than enough to earn Chris' respect and trust thus making anything so small a pointless side fact. He finally looked back at the older Adair sister and nodded a silent greeting to her.
