Dinner Rush (nc17)

Loika rushed from table to table. It was the dinner rush at Mel's diner. Her ass had been grabbed by frat boys and one kid tossed their ketschup at her. Business as usual. She pushed some hair out of her face and took what felt like the millionth order. Thank god Mel's didnt serve alcohol. Then it might actually be crazy up in here. For the most part it was retirees, partiers coming in for some antihangover food and random tourists.

She walked up to her latest table and pulled out her notepad and pencil from her apron. All of the female uniforms here were wedge heels and 50's style diner girl outfits. " Welcome to Mel's home of the Avacado bacon bleu burger. My name is Loika and i will be your waitress how may i help you tonight?"

After what felt like hours searching for this place she had finally found it! She probably should've taken Jake up on his offer to give her a ride but Delphi was a big girl, she could handle it, and she did! However she felt very over dressed for the "greasy spoon" they were attending. She had a black collared shirt on under a light blue sweater with black bird silouhtes on it and a black skater skirt, her wispy blonde hair was done up in a bun and she clutched onto her tea pot shaped purse and had her paper scraps at the ready since it seemed she was the first to arrive.... On second thought it wasn't the smartest ideas to use her powers in a place like this. So she waved to the brunette waitress, showing her she was paying attention, and she pulled out a pen and pad of paper and wrote down in her curly, elegant hand writing:

"Hi I'm with a group they just aren't here yet it seems. I think we have a total of 5?"

She added a smiley face to the end of her sentence and handed the pad to the waitress for her to read it.

Loika looked over her pad of paper. She had the same blue eyes as mackenzie. She looked at her curiously before leaning in and sniffing her. She stood back up and cocked her head kinda like a dog. ""So you are one of us. Okay then what will ya have while you're waiting? I cant leave ya sitting there with nothing."the kid was using papers so maybe she couldnt talk? She wasnt sure

One them? Delphi gave a quizzical look partially because this lady did just literally smell her and because..... The waitress was also a mutant? She seemed nice though, nurturing, she looked pretty young too. Delphi didn't really need or want anything but she had a feeling the waitress wouldn't take no thanks as an answer so she took her pad of paper, turned it to a new page and asked for hot tea,green tea or jasmine if they had it or if they had tea at all.

Jake waved at the mutey mutie as he and an attractive woman walked in. He slung his arm around the woman and affectionately kised her cheek. Jj was behind them somewhere. He pointed delphie out to thana to them and waved to loika.

When he arrived at the table he held out thana's seat for her before hopping in his own. "Loika wassaaaap mammaaaa. Id say you look good for being a mom but thana might hit me for flirting with girls again. Dont worry delphie i wont tell thana of our love."He winked at both girls and put his arm back around thana.

Delphi sat at her table waiting on her party until she saw the group walk in and stroll over to the booth she was sitting at. Jake and Thana looked like they could've been one of those celebrity couples who's beautiful faces are plastered on every tabloid and magazine that you see as you wait in line at the grocery store.


The white blonde blushed a pretty shade of pink at Jakes comment about the two of them, she brought up her left had to cover a silent giggle and with her right hand she took her pen and brought it to her pad.
"Hello Thana it's nice to meet you! And Don't worry I have no intention on stealing him. I don't think he's worthy of me anyway!" she joked and gave her usual warm,sunny smile before scooting over to make room for J.J. on her side of the booth assuming the couple would sit by each other since that's what couples do. Contrary to what people would think Delphi was very much a people person. And she didn't expect to meet this many people on her first day.

Thana arrived with Jake at Mel's Diner. Smiling and rolling her eyes as Jake gave a little bit of fun grief to the girl. "So your his mystery lover. Don't worry I think I'm pretty safe. " She said kindly, before noticing really that she used pen and paper. "Do you know sign?" Thana signed to the girl, smiling kindly.

Thana had arrived with Jake and JJ, the bubbling babbling loving girl. She sat down opposite the new girl, Delphi. "Hey Loika." She said, giving her a smile. Thana didn't talk much in groups unless there was something worth saying, instead she was the observer.

When Delphi was little her parents tried to get Delphi to learn to sign but in never really stuck with her,but now that she was older and could make the choice herself Delphi did want to learn, it could make getting a word in easier conversation wise. Plus she couldn't always relie on her powers and in public she didn't even have an option to use them. She shook her head no at the girls question, Thana seemed sweet and the fact she cared enough to ask Del if she knew how to sign meant a lot her.

Thana smiled as she realised the girl didn't really understand it, but gave the girl a kind smile. It didn't really matter at this stage, "That's okay Delphi, Writing is fine for me." She said, turning to face Jake for a moment and smiled. She had gone home quickly while Jake had gone to the school and gotten changed. Her black gloves covering both arms down to the fingers and a nice simple shirt was what she wore.

Thana looked at her phone as she got a message and smiled, tucking her phone away so she could pay attention to everyone. "Just my brother." She said to Jake, before turning her attention back to the group.

Loika whapped jake on the head with her notepad. " Behave yourself Jake or so help me ill have you whining like a pup." She gave a light but playful growl that sounded very wolfy for coming out of a playful person. " Alright lets get your orders in. Lets see if i remember this correctly. Avacado burger for JJ, buffalo bleu burger for jake, thana you like veggie burgers right? no meat? I cant remember exactly, and newb what will you have? We are famous for our burgers and fries here." She scribbled down the orders she did know and looked at Thana and Delpho. She knew most of them from the school or through students at the school.

JJ skipped along behind Thana and Jake. It was pretty fabu being out now that it was warm. She had been spending nights tracking MRD agents through the city and interrogating them for information. Just like the good ole future.

When she overheard Jake talking about mel's she couldnt help but invite herself. She LOVED food. Food was her love 5ever. Well that and her ragin cajun Remy. She blushed while thinking of him as they walked in. She let Thana and Jake pick their seats before hugging Loika around the neck and sliding into the booth next to Delphi. She grinned when Loika knew what she liked. She tapped her fingers on the table in a hyper motion. " I LOVE the avacado burger its amazing im from the future where we dont have alot of food much less fresh food do you like avacado i LOVE avacado its supposed to make your heart uber strong i wonder how strong my heart is is yours super strong i bet it is your name is Delphi like dolphin and dolphins have strong hearts to be able to swim all the time ive never seen a dolphin have you?"

The blonde ripped a small sheet of paper out of her notebook and wrote down that she would like to try the avocado burger, she then handed the strip of paper to Loika, trying to fight off the urge to just float it over to her was hard but she managed, she didn't wanna get the group in trouble.

After she gave her order to the blue eyed brunette she began to quickly write down a response to the jabber-jaw, J.J. she liked her a lot, she was quirky and Delphi liked quirky, she took her purple pen and started writing almost as quick as the other girl could talk, that's probably because Delphi had been doing this since she was in first grade she pushed the pad over to her seat partner and it read:
 "I guess my heart is strong it beats pretty good I think... I can't wait to try the burger though! As much as I wish I was named after a dolphin I'm actually named after a flower called Delphinium they're beautiful and there blooms are a mix of blues and purples!  I haven't seen a real dolphin before but oh! We should go to an aquarium they have a really cool one in Chicago do they have one here?"

Lakai pranced into mel's in the most ridiculous outfit ever. She stole a fry of a stranger's plate as she walked by his table and ignored his angry protests. She noticed loika talking to some mutie kids and skipped up behind her. Her corset was tight and her skirt was short. Short enough that cheekage was visible. She popped a lolipop out of her corset and stuck it in her mouth right before she threw an arm around her sister's neck. " Hey there sistorial. Dayum gurl you smell like that Sharp guy. Finally get ya some? YOU GO GURL! Whos all yo virgin friends?" She leaned in and smelled delphi, her boobs really close to delphi's face. She stared delphi in the eyes, her own eyes were one blue and one green. She grinned like she might be a little insane.

Boobs. Face.... This was not comfortable.... Delphi didn't like genetiale in her face. Of any kind. If she could Delphi would love to scream or ask the woman to nicely move her breasts out of her face, if she could she'd love to push her off and flip her off but she couldn't she sat there and took and she hated herself for it she tried to reach for her pen but she couldn't  the brunette blocked her pen so Delphi had no choice. She opened her mouth and let out a strangled, breathy noise, attempting to tell the girl to get away from her. She felt weak. And she hated it.

lakai let out a high pitched giggle like a highschool girl. " Whats wrong lassie? timmy fell in the old abandoned well? Fuck timmy. And speaking of fucking." Her head turned at an almost creepy angle to stare down Thana. She glared at the girl like she wanted to kill her. Which she did. She pointed at her. " I am only tellin you this once. I see you look at Shikon wrong, touch shikon wrong, i catch you fucking him... Ill kill you like the last bitch to sample the sins of his flesh. COMPRENDE? Then maybe ill play with your little ken doll." She giggled again and tickled Jake under the chin before standing up straight. She hugged  her sister and nuzzled her like a little kid. " I love our get togethers. We need to do this more often."

Thana smiled up at Loika, "Yes please, veggie burger chips and fries." Thana answered her, Loika seemed to know her pretty well. She smiled and looked over at Jake as he was lightly threatened, and hit on the head lightly. "Hey Loika, no beating my man up. Just threats." She said, squeezing Jake's hand.




As Lakai walked in Thana rolled her eyes, "Hey Lakai, same as I said to your sister. Don't touch Jake we had a deal remember." Thana said to her, she wasn't to hurt Jake. They had agreed on this. But she listened as Lakai threatened her.

"One, Lakai grow the fuck up and shut the fuck up. Just because your Magneto's little bitch doesn't mean you get to go make threats. Especially on ones you have no stance or reason in. If your so insecure about you and Shikon that's your problem.  Two, If you plan on killing me you are going to have to wait. There's a long damn line. " She answered, standing up slightly. A blue orb appearing in her hand, over her glove. Thana disliked Lakai,  she didn't take threats. Especially from Lakai, and especially about Shikon. He was her mentor yes, but that was because they had agreed on it.

The last thing she needed was her sister getting into another fight. Especially where she worked. " Calm down ya'll. Lakai knock it off and Thana put your hand glowy thing away we are in public." She looped an arm around her sister's waist and drug her away from the table towards the back of the restaurant. It seemed like all she did was work and be every one's mother. Her own sister included.

She pushed her sister into a corner. " You cant come into my place of work and act like a feral animal. There are rules lakai. You dont like her deal with it on your own time. I MEAN it." She said when they were out of earshot of the group and customers.

"Um owwww. Hey sis cmon i was playin. Be cool homeslice."she said teasingly as she played with her sister's hair. There was a huge posibility lakai was higher than fuck right now.

She pouted at loika and licked her cheek. "I sorry. Ill be good and leave okay? Scouts honor. Sorry bout pete." She edged away from her sister. She didnt entirely feel bad but she didnt also was finished with what she planned to do.

Thana looked at Lakai and Loika, and hesitated for a moment. She didn't want to cause a scene either, so she dissipated her orb and sat back down. Calming herself down. She looked over at Jake and squeezed his hand, "Sorry." She said quietly to him.

Thana sat back down and remained quiet, she didn't like getting angry. Especially in public. She squeezed Jake's hand again and looked over at Delphi. "So where are you from?" She asked, hoping to move on.

Delphi smiled sweetly at her, she couldn't help but admire how quickly and easily Thana calmed her self down, she really admired that, she smiled and wrote down on her note pad. She kind of missed her home, she especially missed her brother Dorian, and she was really hoping that he would make good on his promise to write her.
"Chicago! My family lived in the city we used to always go to the art museum and stuff! Where are you from?"

Jake stared down lakai. At one point in his life he had wanted to fuck her. Now he wanted to kill her. Funny how that worked out. He felt thana's hand on him but he was far to worked up be what lakai said to thana. The hand cast on his busted up hand from last night's incident made a cracking noise then broke.

He snapped out of kill lakai mode and looked down at his hand. "Dammit....chicago is cool from what i heard. Never been though."

She looked at Jakes hand and then she looked back up at his grey eyes, she was hoping he was ok, and she was also a bit curious to as of where the scars and injuries came from but Delphi never was one t stick her nose into business that she had no need to get into so she smiled tenitively  and wrote on the paper pad and pushed it over to Jake.
"Yeah it's fun! And HUGE! They have so much stunning art and the pizza is SO good!"
She cannot help it when her eyes light up as she talks about home, for some reason she really missed it.

Thana gently squeezed Jake's hand again. He busted the cast she had put on , " Jake it's okay." She said softly before turning back to Delphi. Her growing up was difficult to talk about, but Delphi had spoke of hers it was only fair Thana did the same . " I was born and up in Australia, in the Outback. No big cities for me, a small town with five shops, and dirt dirt and dirt every where . I lived there until I was around ten, then circumstances changed and I moved to America . " Thana answered, omitting why she had moved to America.

" Chicago is nice, I've been there a few times . Very windy for me though , but it is nice ." She said, interested in Delphi and gently but firmly so he would calm down as well .

Delphi smiled and wrote on her pad excitedly, she loved talking about home, home was comfort and a warm cup of tea while watching Alice In Wonderland at 3 AM with Dori. She missed it. But this was her home now, these people understood her, they were the same as her and they could help her become stronger, Plus they were all great for the most part. She looked at her table mates, J.J. Going to town on her burger and Jake and Thana being sweet.

She replied to what Thana said in an instant, Delphi didn't know much about Australia except that they had large spiders and koalas and boomerangs and sometimes the people said 'mate'  but se noticed Thana seemed uncomfortable and didn't want to press on too much.
"Austrlia? That's SO much cooler then Chicago! I've never been out of the country before I've always wanted to go to London though!" 

Jenica sucked down a soda while everything happened. She liked both wolf girls. The little one was bad yes but she would do great things if nurtured correctly. She watched the sisters walk away then belched loudly. "That will never not be fun. Soooooo. Jake is going for a record of breaking his hand in one day."
