Bittersweet ( R)

JJ sat in the front seat trying to catch her breath. That was alot of teleporting for her and then there was that weirdness when she couldnt teleport out at first. She still felt a little weird.

She looked back at Ari. She passed out when they got out of the MRD. She looked really bad. She didnt want to upset anyone in the car but she didnt think Arabella was going to survive the night with the way she looked.

She took her phone out of her pocket. " Take us to the school Jake. Hospitals arent safe. Even if she is... Ya know. Just go to the school." She dialed Alec's number and waited for it to pick up.

Colton had been spending more time with Alec as of late. The two were growing close to each. Common interests and good looks were always a good thing.  Colton laid in bed with Alec when Alec’s phone went off. The blonde mutant let out a yawn and reached his hand over to the bed stand and grabbed sleepily at the phone. He didn’t care who’s phone it was he wanted it to shut up he was trying to take a nap after the fun session that he and Alec had. ”Hello…..” he said in a sleepy tone as he picked the phone up.

~At the school~

Remy woke up later the day. At first freaking out as he had felt Jenica move but it had been one long intense passion filled night. A long time of pent up mutual needs and the best time of his life. He had showered and dressed quickly. Grabbed his pants, a shirt and was searching the school for her. When he came back to the room to pick up his coat, fedora and bo staff he spotted a piece of paper. Moving quickly and picked it up. Reading it over he groaned. He texted Jenica telling her he'd rouse jean and meet her by the front door. Moving through the school he burst into Jean's room woke her up and practically dragged her out of bed. It didn't take long before he'd gotten it clear what happened. Then again he also hadn't waited for Jean to fully wake before he was out the room and downstairs. Waiting outside on the front steps. He trusted Jenica. He just was worrying due to the note...said some ominous things.

~Alec's place~

Colton was surprised by the sudden hyper voice from the other end of the phone. ”Who are you??”  His mind was not ready to process all of this. He wanted to go back to being the little spoon. He knew Chris and Ari were gone but they most likely were doing appointments for the baby and just trying to avoid being around people. ”You gotta be kidding me!” he said in his southern drawl as he shot up in the bed and scrambled to find his cloths. ”Yeah..yeah…I can do I’ll be there as soon as I can.”he said before he hung up the phone and started to shake Alec. ”Alec you have to wake up somethings happened with your sister. We gotta go NOW!” he said trying to rouse his boyfriend.

Alec groaned in his sleep following his lover's escape from his arms. He loved colton more than anything next to his sisters of course. He did his best to keep his man satisfied. He hadn't heard any complaints so far. Not that he would. 

He grumbled louder in her sleep, sounding like a wounded bear when colt shook him again. "Love if you want me to continue saving the horse and riding the cowboy then you need to let me recover." He said into the pillow. He sat up when he heard the rest of what he had to say. "Alright I'll get my pants you get my keys and wallet." He dragged gis half awake naked form out of bed and hunted quickly for his pants. 

Chris' eyes were bloodshot and welled with tears in a mix of physical pain, anger, sadness and confusion. He didn't know what to do with what had happened to them recently or how things were going to play out, but he finally pulled his gaze from staring out the window and to Arabella who was next to him with her head on his shoulder. Everything hurt: his arms, legs, head, internally and he was an emotional wreck but the young man knew how important it was for them to get Arabella to the school. He'd settle for nothing less after Isaac had known about the baby from public hospital records; it was too dangerous for mutants to go to human medical facilities it seemed.

He slipped an arm around her and the other rested on her small bump as he closed his eyes feeling the bio electricity of the life within, relieved that the baby was still alive but didn't know how much longer they had.

If the situation wasn’t so horrible Coton would have laughed at Alec’s comment. Right now though he was in work mode; he needed to get to the school and see what he could do to help out Ari and Chris. He loved Alec, people could see it. He also cared about Ari and Chris. They were family in his mind.
 

He slipped on his boots and ran over to the dresser grabbing Alec’s wallet and keys that sat on top of it. He turned to look over at his boyfriend. ”Come on lets go. We don’t have much time.” he said in his southern drawl. The sooner they got there the more he could do to help them.

Alec realized colton was serious. He got out of bed quickly and pulled on his pants over his nude form. Putting colt through his paces last night wore him out as well. Colt's change in demeanour made him wake up faster than instant coffee. He took his keys and wallet from his lover then pushed him against the wall to kiss him roughly. He couldn't help it. He couldn't keep his hands off of him. "Lets go." He said in a gravely voice and pulled his shoes on.

If arabella wasn't pregnant jake would be savoring a cigarette right now. All hwll broke loose. They would all be wanted by now. He tried to give jj her privacy on the phone but it was the only noise in their stolwn ride. 

He kept quiet while glaring at Chris in the mirror when he wasn't watching the road. He had half a mind to beat the shit out of him if hells bells wasn't looking so crapy. She looked like natilee when she was found dead and the memory ofthat day was too painful. He gripped the steering wheel tight until they reached the school where he pulled up the driveway right in front ofthe feont doors.. He reached across JJ and pushed her door open. He fumbled for his cigarettes. 

"Everyone out i have to ditch this thing before it is reported stolen. Take care of bells." He didn't look at any of them. 

Colton was lucky he healed quicker than most mutants and humans, but Alec did do a number on him the night before. It still hurt a little bit in some places but it would pass in an hour or so hopefully. He went to head for the door when Alec pushed him against the wall and kissed him. Instinct kicked in and he wrapped his hand around his boyfriend and kissed him back. He wanted to do more but there wasn’t time. People were dying. ”We can finish this when we get back. But we have to go. Your sister isn’t doing  hot.” he said running out the door and rode with Alec to the mansion.

Jj waved at colton as she hopped out of the suv. She was holding her side and blood stained the front of her shirt but she looked ok otherwise. "I'm okay dont worry about me. Ari is unconscious and unresponsive. She needs carried in. Chris is ok but it looks like he got the bamboo pole massage. He is going to need help as well. Alright everyone lets move!" Her days as a squad leader in the future were taking over. She was in no was bossing but instead being a leader. She limped up the steps and hugged remy despite her blood getting on his clothes. 

Alec squared his jaw in stress on the way to the school. He was grateful for his boyfriend. Even moreso when they arrived and the strange little one started shouting orders at people like a weird little drill sergeant.

He stepped out of thier vehicle and nodded to colt to get his sister. If she was as bad as everyonr said she was then colt would be able to better assist her. He went to chris' side and stopped momentarily when he saw the young man's hand on her stomach. He wanted to deck him but resisted the urge. He instead put chris's arm around his shoulder and helped him to his feet while taking most of hid weight. "Lets get you kids patched up." His stomach rolled at the smell of blood in the car. It was a sickening copper smell. One he smelt a few times and at that the victims seldom survived. 

The drive felt like forever but finally they were at the mansion. Colton got out and looked at the giant building in confusion. It was huge! He didn’t know a place like this was real and it was also a school which was weird. Like was it a catholic school or something like that? Some girl came out and started to tell them about Ari and everyone else. Colton quickly ran over to the car to see a blood covered Arabella. He was used to the scent of blood but he never thought of seeing a friend of his covered in so much blood.
 

”Jesus H Christ! What the hell happened?” he exclaimed as he took her vitals. Her pulse was almost nonexistence. She was clinging to life. He felt a glimmer of life in the baby inside of her but it was like a candle in the win. He went to pick her up and saw the burns where her tree tattoo was and he took in a deep breath. ”What did they do to you?” he said to the unresponsive woman. He put his arms under her and picked her up. Thankfully she was knocked out or it would hurt like a mother fucker. ”We have to get her to an ER. She needs surgery. There is organ damage and internal bleeding. She needs to go to a hospital not some private school!” he said in a stern voice as he looked at Alec. Why the hell did they go to a school in a first place?

Arabella was limp in his arms. She didnt say anything but she groaned in pain and whimpered when he picked her up. Her face looked like someone beat the hell out of her. Most of one side of her face was bruised along with a black/swollen eye and a split lip. Those were just the smallest of her injuries. Her head slumped against him while he held her in his arms. Lucky for him she was smaller built even with her round bump of baby.

Chris just stared ahead blankly like he wasn't even mentally there after Alec had helped him out of the car, and technically he wasn't really there. He'd seen combat and dealt with terrible situations, but to see the love of his life and their child dying because MRD wanted him was almost more than his mind could handle. He watched as Colton took Ari; he didn't fully trust the man, though he seemed decent enough and his concern over Arabella proved to Chris that he was a good sort at the least.

When he mentioned getting Ari to a hospital, Chris turned his head to Colt and shook his head, speaking softly but as clearly as he could given the ordeal he'd been through. "No... no hospitals... MRD... can track us there... safer here..." He finally looked over at Alec and pulled himself from him, staggering back until he fell on the ground against the wall of the school.

"Don't worry... about me... take care of her... she's all that matters," he stated taking wheezing breaths, "I'll be okay." Chris was far from okay as if the bruises, cuts and swelling as well as the wheezing hadn't given that away, but he was more concerned with Ari and getting her worked on even if it meant he had to suffer and potentially die, it didn't matter to him. He had to be alone anyway to mull things over in his mind and, as bad as he looked on the outside, his mental state was far worse.

Alec looked from chris to his sister. It was obvious the young man cares for his sister deeply and kept her alive through whatever happened. His job was not over though. Despite the hell look in his eyes he was still needed.

Colton held Ari’s cold, damaged body in his arms.  He hated seeing people like this.  ”Well what the hell are we supposed to do? She needs surgery which I am pretty sure the school nurse can’t do. “ he growled in frustration. He wished he had brought his emt kit. It would help a little but not enough. Ari was so damaged on the inside that intense surgery would be the only thing that could save her.
 
”Chris don’t play the hero. This isn’t over yet.” he said to Chris in a frustrated tone. He knew he had been through a lot and he wasn’t in the right state of mind but he still was injured and needed to be looked at.  Colton let out a sigh and walked into the school and looked around. The place was huge how the hell was he supposed to get to the med bay? Thankfully a student showed up and led him to an elevator that took him down into the basement and the doors opened showing a metal lined hallway. Soon they were in the med bay and Colton looked around surprised. ”Alright well this works.” he said looking at equipment. Some of the things they had he had never seen before.  He put Ari on a medical bed and went over and grabbed a stethoscope. ”Her pulse is fading and she has collapsed lung. I need to do an aspiration” he said grabbing a needle and stabbing it into Ari’s lung.

Ari didnt move or respond in his arms even as he carried her inside and through the main lobby to the elevators. The student that showed them the way looked at her like she was from a horror movie. The only sound she made was a gurgling sound when she breathed that started in the elevator.

Laying on the bed she was almost colorless. She was pale right down to her lips. She shivered from shock and her lips trembled. She wasnt better but she wasnt worse. She remained still and unmoving until he stabbed the needle in. Some blood drained from her lung and she gasped for air. Her eyes flew open and she coughed a few breaths. She looked up colton briefly with pain filled eyes then went back to unconsciousness.

Chris was in no shape to physically struggle against being ushered into the mansion, and didn't want to argue with the two men about it. All he wanted was to make sure that Arabella and the baby were safe; he'd never forgive himself if he lost either one of them and was already upset that they were only in their present condition because MRD wanted his powers for a weapon of some sort against the mutant race.

He sighed as they made their way inside, staring at the floor for most of the time, trying desperately to keep himself conscious, but knowing that it wouldn't be long before he was unable to do even that. He was aware of the wheezing and the pain when he breathed and knew what it meant, glancing over at Alec once hearing Colton about how bad off Ari was. "I'm sorry... it's my fault..."

Jj followed after the group. She still feeling weird after all of the teleporting but at least they were all out. She personally was in no danger. Her gunshot was livable. 

Once in the medbay she kept a careful eye on her friends while helping herself to the supplies. She peeled off her shirt and stood in a sports bra. No big deal. She sterilized what she could before getting a suture kit and getting to work sewing herself up. She used a small local anesthetic but not much. She had done this plenty without one.

Jj always wore a chain with a row of watches that didnt work. At least to everyone else. She knew what they meant. It meant something was going to happen in the future. She kept checking them now. She wasnt about to tell anyone she knew the child in the future. A future that was dangling on a very thin thread.

(ooc: sorry its late XD I'll post as much as I can lot of stuff going on atm. I guess the medical beds and equipments as well as other things set out werent entirely noticed thats okay. sorry for Jean taking so long she was there getting more things once Colton ran out of it. or something. I hope I didn't miss anything important. XD)

Jean had set out everything that she thought might be needed. She was coming back with further medical equipment as she saw that Colton had found everything she had already set out. "What else are you needing Doctor Rhett?" She asked him before passing by Christopher and looking at Alec as well. Moving over to Ari she held her hands out over the young girl she considered her family. She began to encourage the young womans' body to internally heal and mend its damaged lungs. She looked at Christopher. "Wash your hands. Don a pair of gloves. A face mask. You too Alec. We're going to need as many hands helping with this as possible. I am going to be assisting with the surgery as well as doing everything in my ability to help her through this."

It was good that Ari was able to breathe better but there was still a lot they needed to do. There was so much internal damage that he didn’t even know what to do. He took of the basic medical classes required for doctors but he was an EMT this was beyond his knowledge. All he could do is take care of the things he knew how to fix.
 
”Chris this ain’t your fault. Don’t ever think that. You weren’t the one that broke the bones. I know you feel horrible because you couldn’t stop them from hurting her but this isn’t your fault.” he said in a firm voice as he glanced over at Chris. He knew how it felt seeing a person you loved physically broken. He just hoped that Chris didn’t have the same experience like Colton did.
 

A woman came into the room and spoke to him calling him a doctor and his eyes shot open like a deer in the head lights. ”I ain’t no doctor. I am an EMT!” he said in his southern drawl sounding surprised. ”She is going to need radiation I think for the internal bleeding. There is so much wrong with her. Most of the bones are broken in her body. The baby is alive, it’s clinging to life, barely.” he said biting his lip.

Arabella was able to catch her breath and breathe. With the bloodloss she was still weak and in danger but it was like taking a break during a marathon. She was able to muster enough strength to open her eyes and looked around the room. Everything was so bright. One eye was swollen shut so she was only able to look through one eye clearly.

She looked up at Colton. He looked so concerned. They all did. She reached out to touch his arm and the pain hit her again. She cried in pain like an injured animal and grabbed his arm. In the process she accidentally used her powers in reverse. She didnt know how she did it but she shared all of her memories with him. She whimpered. " P-please Colt. It hurts so much. Something is really wrong. My stomach hurts really...really..." Her eyes fluttered closed and her hand went limp on his arm. She went completely still.
