Night on the Town

Shikon was sitting on a bus bench. He checked his watch. It was about a quarter to six. Shikon was early as always. He was in the nicest suit he owned, and it was his favorite. Lakai was the only person he let shop for him. She knew how he liked his clothes, and this was the one Lakai had bought him for his birthday. Shikon checked the suit over again. He wanted everything to be perfect. This was a moment to prove himself. That he actually wanted her around. He sat quietly then yawned. Sometimes he really hated being early.

Lakai arrived in her normal prancy way. Her outfit was still attention grabbing but tamed down from her normal revealing outfits. She walked along with her signature dice shaped lolipop in her mouth. She was told by shikon to meet him here. He felt sorry for neglecting his queen lately or at least thats what he claimed he felt. She would see for herself. If not she was out of there.

She walked pranced up to Shikon and smirked at him flirtaciously. She sucked on the lolipop suggestively before popping it out of her mouth. " Alright you asked me to meet you here for a night with you. Now what." She would never admit she was jealous of all of his time with his new "aprentice" but she couldnt argue with him on it. He was dead set on his time with her.

Shikon smiled at Lakai. Seems she was always right on time. He reached under the bench he was sitting on and pulled out the flowers he had bought earlier. It was a mix of flowers and he hoped Lakai would like them. "Well for starters, these are for you." He held the flowers out to Lakai and then spoke. "Dinner is in an hour on the opposite side of the Square so we should get a move on if we want to get there on time, and you know how I am about being late." His smile widened as he stared at Lakai, he didn't hide that he stared. She knew he would, and he knew she would love the attention.

Lakai was taken aback. She had never recieved flowers from a man before. In past experience she had been handed condoms not carnations. She wasnt sure what to do. She took them and smelled them. "They are beautiful shikon. Thank you." She took his arm and walked with him. She was surprised at the effort he was putting into this but wouldnt question things for now. She sniffed the flowers more as they walked. Was this what normal was like? No voices all happy? It was disgusting but an enjoyable disgusting. She even blushed when she caught him staring at her. Why would he need to stare? He had already seen her naked. 

Shikon smiled when Lakai blushed from him staring. "You're cute when you blush." Shikon kept leading them towards the restaurant. After about a 10-15 minute walk they arrived at the restaurant. It was the fanciest one that Shikon could find. He had shelled out plenty of money to get them a table, and he even made a few threats. "Well come on my love, we don't want to keep all the people waiting." Shikon led them inside and and waited to be attended to by the host.

She rolled her eyes. "Ive been called alot of things, cute is not one of them." She walked with him to the resteraunt. She was used to eatting at high end places with her family but shikon had never taken her out before. A hot date was usually pizza and beer at the brotherhood.maybe he was actually trying. She was glad she dressed less slutty for once. She usually didnt care how she looked but she was feeling a little self concious lately. Was she feeling unworthy to shikon shikon? She felt like she wasnt enough for anybody. 

Shikon laughed at Lakai's comment. He leaned in close whispering to the host, and after a few moments of heated whispering Shikon slipped the man a few bills. The host smiled and led them to a table. He handed them two menus, then walked away. Shikon pulled out Lakai's chair and seated her, then pushed in her chair when she sat. "One moment love. I'll be right back."

Shikon went to the kitchen, and they yelled at him for being there, but he calmed them all down saying he had a surprise when he signaled. They all nodded their understanding and he left. He stopped by the musicians and tipped them to play something other than the snobby music they were playing already. When he returned maybe five minutes had went by. He sat down across from Lakai and smiled his devilish smile at her.

Lakai cocked her head and watched shikon speak to the host. She didnt know what he was up to but she was very suspicious. She watched him like a hawk. At the table he continued to treat her like a lady and pulled her chair out for her. She picked up her menu and glanced over it. It was very similar to when she went out with mom and dad.

She looked up and realized he was gone. She smirked when she heard yelling from the kitchen. Whatever he was up to was certainly a big deal. Then he hired someone to play music. While he was gone bread was delivered to the table along with bread oil. She was enjoying some when he returned. " You are up to something sneaky."

Shikon chuckled and smiled at Lakai. "I may be, but you'll love it. After all, I'm always up to something." He winked and Lakai and watched the waiter come by. Shikon took Lakai's menu gently from her, and he ordered their dirnks, appetizers, entrees, and desserts before Lakai could say anything about it. The waiter nodded and left to go place the order. When the waiter came back he held a bottle of the most expensive wine in the house. Shikon motioned for the man to set down the bottle and leave. When the waiter said something about needing to see I.D.s Shikon pulled out more bills and told the waiter it was unnecessary. The man took the bills and smiled saying something along the lines of 'Of course sir.' before leaving.

When the waiter finally left Shikon took the bottle and uncorked it. He poured both his and Lakai's glass. Then he set them down before them. He smiled at Lakai again, and blew her a kiss from across the table. He held up his finger and blew, bringing the candle on the center of the table to life. "How is my plan going so far my queen?" He smirked at Lakai and ate some of the bread.

Lakai had been drinking since she was 12. The idea that someone thought they could card her made her want to laugh. She did what she wanted when she wanted and how she wanted. The fact that she spent so long in one place still amazed her.

She let him take her menu and was a little surprised when he took charge and ordered for her. Her alpha female side wanted to challenge him but tonight was about him proving he was worth her. She snickered when he blew a kiss at her. " I just wish you would tell what your plan is. What this is all about. Not that i dont appreciate it but im just confused about the sudden attention you put into our relationship."

Shikon chuckled and smiled. He leaned back in his chair in his typical snide fashion. "Tonight is about you. It's about me showing you how I feel about you, and that you're the only one for me." He smiled at her and blew her another kiss. "So I can't tell you my plan because then that would take away from all the excitement and fun of the surprise!"

Lakai took a longer than classy drink of her wine. She licked the wine on her lips seductively. She knew what she was doing and what she did to him. "Are you sure me aaand thana arent the only ones for you? You told me i was the only one for you before and look where that got me. Yea i keep bringing up the past but its a reality. You are mine shikon."

Shikon rolled his eyes and leaned further back in his chair. "Lakai if I wanted both you and Thana I would have brought her along too and made the two of you fight. But I didn't, I chose you like I always do." He chuckled at the thought of her and Thana fighting then he shrugged. "If you feel I'm tricking you, then I won't make you stay. I'm just trying to make you realize how important, and special you are to me."

"You know ive had trust issues since before i met you. I wont get over them over night if ever." She hesitantly reached across the table and put her hand on his and stroked his fingers. She loved how his skin felt as hot as hers. Not just his fingers but other parts of him. Just thinking about it made her cheeks flush red. Thinking about what his hands hand done with her. What other parts had done with her. She smirked seductively. " I will stay Shikon. I need you as much as you need me. I... I love you."

Shikon felt Lakai touch his hand and stroke his fingers. He smirked and raised her hand to his lips and kissed her hand gently. There was no hesitation when he spoke, no staggering of words. "I love you too. More than all the stars in the galaxy, more than the time it would take to travel from the sun to ends of the universe. I will always love you. There will never come a day when I don't long to be by your side. I will always want you to be with me. The universe brought us together, and it can't tear us apart. It's you and me darling. Just us, no one else. It's us against the world." He smiled sweetly at her and sat back in his chair.

" If magneto doesnt do something soon its going to be us against magneto. The brotherhood has become stagnant. We need to raise some hell." She said and drained her glass of wine. She would have said more but their dinner arrived. She left it at that for now, not wanting to ruin dinner. For once she sat quietly and enjoyed the good food set before them. The least she could do is have one good evening out with Shikon.

Shikon nodded, but didn't speak as the food arrived. He took his time eating, trying his best to be the perfect gentleman. He filled up Lakai's glass when he noticed it was empty, and topped off his own. Once they were done eating he brought the waiter back around. The waiter leaned down and Shikon whispered quietly in his ear. The waiter nodded and left.

"Tell me Lakai, are you ready for your surprise?" Shikon smiled evilly, and winked at her. Shikon had been waiting for this part of the night since they got to the restaurant.

Lakai finished her dinner and cocked her head when he whispered with the waiter. What was he planning...she couldnt be sure. Her hearing was higher than the average but it still wasnt as good as loika's. 

She sighed and sat back in her chair while she waited for them to finish. She was also dying for a cigarette but she would have to wait. When he finally spoke up her nodded and rolled her eyes. "Uh duh you know im ready. You are pure evil."

Shikon laughed and smiled widely at Lakai. "Yea,I am pure evil, but you love it and you know it." His smile widened as the waiter and a few cooks came out. The waiter was grinning, as were the cooks. The waiter handed Shikon a bottle, and he uncorked it. Had Lakai been paying attention she might have been able to see something floating in the bottle. Although it was hard to see clearly with the bottle being a very dark green.

Shikon's hand was a tad shaky as he calculated the amount he needed to first pour into his glass, then Lakai's for this to work. Once he was confident enough he poured his glass, and then poured hers. Right as Shikon was finishing up the poor, a ring flowed out and plopped itself into her glass. Shikon smiled at Lakai, he took the ring out and took her hand.

Lakai thought it odd that the kitchen staff came out but tried to not yhink much of it. She hadnt been to a fancy place in a long time. She guessed it was normal in this day and age. At least there was alcohol involved. 

She watched him pour with shaky hands and was starting to get worried. Was he dumping her? It that why they were in a public setting? Her questions were answered when the ring landed in her glass. He took it out and held her hand. All she could do was stare in shock.

Shikon smiled his hands still shaking. This is something he had been waiting on for awhile. Shikon had been saving for months for this ring. It wasn't big or flashy, but he had worked hard to get. He had done honest work, he had gotten a job in secret to pay for the ring. Shikon took a deep breath and got down on one knee. He knew their age was different by a few years, and that she wasn't an adult yet, but it didn't matter to him. Lakai was the one for him, she had stolen his heart long ago, and he couldn't see himself spending life with anyone else.

Shikon took one more breath, and he smiled genuinely. A smile that only Lakai had ever seen, it was the smile he had when they were on the couch at the Brotherhood and they sat on the couch watching tv and holding hands. He swallowed hard. If this didn't prove how committed he was to her, then nothing short of a miracle would. "Lakai, would you do me the honor, of becoming my wife, and making me the happiest and luckiest man on the entire planet? I know I've messed up a lot, and I know that I haven't been showing you the attention I should be lately, but I want nothing more than to be with you. Forever. You're the one for me. I can't see myself with anyone else." Shikon breathed deeply again. "So how about it?" Shikon stared into her eyes while smiling. Waiting for her answer.

Lakai stared at him with a look of shock and surprised. She never thought in a million years she would be in this situation. This was more of a Loika thing. Not a Lakai thing. Lakai wasnt the housewife type. She had been through alot with Shikon though. Despite his digressions she still loved him as much as her fucked up mind could love someone besides herself. She swallowed hard and nodded. "Yes. Shikon."

Shikon went from a grin, to the biggest smile ever. He jumped up and down, and he shouted loudly. "Yes! She said yes!" He kissed Lakai quickly and made a show of running around the entire restaurant while screaming what he had said. He hugged every waiter and waitress, the host, the chefs that had came outside to bring the bottle. He even hugged the two nearest tables.

After a few moments he calmed down and sat back down at his seat. Shikon cleared his throat, but couldn't get the smile off his face. He waved the waiter and chefs away as he stared at Lakai. "So tell me, did you like your surprise?"

While shikon was still jumping around ahe was sitting in shock staring at her ring. She couldnt believe he asked her too marry him. It all stil felt so unreal. She sat and stared at the ring on her finger in mild shock. She would have to find a nice chain to put it on so she didnt loose it when she shifted. When he asked her if she liked her surprise all she could do is smile shly and turn red as she nodded.

Shikon's grin grew even wider as he stared at Lakai. This was it, the two of them were engaged. Shikon thought he'd never see the day he'd get married, but here it was. Honestly Shikon couldn't see himself with anyone other than Lakai. She was the perfect one for him. She could quell the fire when it raged inside him, she could stir the fire in turn. She knew his past, and his present and loved him for all his mistakes, and he loved her the same. "Now I suppose the real question is how do we tell Loika without her ripping out my throat?" Shikon laughed loudly, making a small joke, although he then wondered how Loika would respond. After a moment of laughing and thinking he realized he didn't care. He had the most amazing woman in the world just agree to marry him.
