Many years ago Xavier's school for gifted mutants was attacked. It was left in ruin. Teachers and students abandoned it with no hope of returning to it for sanctuary...

Years later a professor named Jason Andrews returned life to the school's halls and rebuilt its walls. Students have once again come to learn at the school in safety.

Many other mutants aren't quite so lucky. Some still remain hidden in the shadows and some within factions like the brotherhood are left leaderless.

Silus found himself wandering about, alone as he always was. He had nowhere to go, no place to be. He just left the orphanage, he had accidentally sapped another person. He cried for hours, even though the boy was okay and he forgave Silus, Silus still couldn't forgive himself. So he did the only thing he knew how to... he ran. The Bronx was not a friendly place for a kid to be, and he knew this well enough. But he didn't care. He thought of himself as a freak, a dangerous thing in the world. He made his way down the street and stopped at a bus stop bench, waiting.

He found himself wondering where he would go, worrying about how he would survive. His mind wandered to his friends. Mackenzie had her mommy and daddy, Silus had no one. Aramis had the school and the funding from his family, Silus had nothing. His heart broke for himself, but not in a moment of boo-hoo self-pity, but in a moment of fear. He brought his knees up and wrapped his arms around them, pulling them to his chest. His three-sizes too big hoodie zip-up wrapped around him and the hood up as he watched people go by. The air suddenly turned cold and with a sudden breeze Silus could feel the moisture in the air...and it started to rain. Little prying Indigo eyes would glow as he pulled his head down into his hood like a little turtle and look around for a form of shelter.

Chris raised the small red hood of his jacket, brilliant blue orbs peering out from the shadow that it offered him as he came to a stop. Everyone around him moved at their usual pace, much slower to him but they moved anyway. He could feel it, the rain as it would fall from the sky, some of it slapping him in the face as the young blond looked upwards with a low frown. ”Bleh.” he muttered taking a sip from his small coffee cup, humming pleased as he exhaled and looked about. He could feel that the cup was beginning to get empty, but he didn't have anymore money to buy another one, and he did not want to get back to the Institute yet.

Within an instant he was in motion, moving around people at speeds they could not perceive and just going about as he usually did within the city. What did catch his attention was one thing, a kid in a hoodie perhaps a few sizes too big for him, and turtled up in it. Within a matter of seconds everything would go back to normal, and Chris would appear behind Silus, or atleast to those that could have no perceived his speed. ”Hiya.” Chris would say, looking curiously at Silus with the cup of coffee still within his hands, drinking at it.

Wandering about was a favorite pass time for the teenaged mutant not-so-ninja mutant. The Bronx was one of those places where he found himself frequenting more and more. It gave him a sense of excitement, a little danger all while challenging his mind, exercising it in order to "shut out" the thoughts of others and fixate his power on certain individuals. Tugging on his black leather jacket he fixed it's positioning as his dog-tags jingled from the sudden shift. His jacket fixed, he walked down the isle, smiling at people as he passed before stepping off the bus and into the street. The bus let out a groan and squeak as the doors closed behind him. The bus then proceeded away as the motor rumbled and growled from the accelerating force. He sighed and took a deep inhale of the thick polluted air as he put one foot in front of the other and began to walk.

He was glad to be out of the institute today, he woke up REALLY not wanting to go to classes and the one class he wanted to go to was canceled because of some sickness. He blamed those toxinogenesis mutants from biology. Those two were never up to any good as far as he knew. His mind drew up speculations on the shady classmates as he walked for hours, a common practice for him since he got his "new legs". All those months as a sedentary, immobile thingamajig took their tool on the jet haired teen and now walking and running were some of his most commonly visited pass-times, coupled with deep thoughts and practice with his abilities. Much to his dismay, his body required rest and so he would need to take to immobility for a short time, turning in an alleyway and sitting with his back against the ill kept brick building. The sky darkened and a chilled breeze brushed against his cheek to send a shudder down his spine. The little tip and tap of rain began to be heard, and soon it was a steady leaking pace. The rain would no doubt pick up, causing him to groan.

""Awe man..." He whined as his head went back, gently tapping the brick wall. Chilled rain smashed against his face. He could feel it, and he was grateful for it, but being drenched when he went back to the school wouldn't go over well. His fell off to the side where his eyes caught two kids by a bus bench. He was going to need to go to the bench, but not now. The truth remained that he was too nervous to approach the group of two. "Call my name, through the dream, and I'll hear you scream again... Black hole sun, wonchu come and wash awaaay the raaain?" He sang softly to himself as he looked around the bench for the bus.

Mackenzie was wandering around looking for Silus. She was pushing her powers to the max to find his thoughts. She was worried about him. She hadnt seen him in a while. Most little girls would be terrified to be walking around in this neighborhood with a raincoat and an umbrella and not much else. She knew however that she was the most dangerous around here. Nothing to fear.

She finally found him after a long time of searching and walked up to him. She put her umbrella over him and smiled.

Silus saw a kid about his age, maybe a little older than his real age in front of him. He was drinking coffee which made Silus smile. He shook his head as he hid within his hoodie that was sizes upon sizes too big. He waved at him though and eventually freed his mouth to speak. "Hi..." He said shyly. Silus smiled at the coffee and looked to the kid with an arched eyebrow as if unsure what he was looking at. "Doesn't anyone yell at you for drinking that?" He asked before he tucked himself into his hoodie again. He felt himself suddenly no longer under assault by the rain, he turned his head up to notice an umbrella and then followed it down right to Mackenzie. He felt his smile widen slightly as he shifted slightly, as if he were going to come out of his hoodie now that he was safe from the rain.

"Hi Mack..." he said weakly.

Mack smiled and handed the umbrella to him without even asking him to take it. She sat her backpack down and dug through it until she produced a thermos. She held it out to him. " Ive been looking for you for hours. Hot chocolate. You have to be cold. This should warm you up. Why dod you leave? Did i do something wrong?"

Chris smiled to the male that peeked at him from underneath the hood, bright blue eyes narrowing and attempting to get a better look at the male. A wave and a shy Hi was all that he got, but it was enough for the male as he removed his own hood, revealing the young boy beath and letting his blond hair become a little wetter. A question would then come about his coffee, which Chris then looked to, and cocked his head to the side, the motions so fast that they seemed to blur together as he took another sip and looked to Silus. ”I dunno. I guess someone has tried to take my coffee from me before, but they were too slow to do it, they just kinda tripped over themselves.” He noted looking to the male for a moment, and humming to himself. '”Don't see why grown ups don't want me to drink it though, its really good.” His mind then began to dart around and so as his mind did his body followed, the male moving faster, each motion a blur almost.

Now there were a total of three? That wasn't real assuring to him as he nervously tried to decide what to do. That one little guy in the hoodie looked really sad, and Alexander was confidant that he could make anybody feel better with a little work. But he didn't want to do it at the risk of being forced to be around so many people. Being a mutant was hard enough, let alone when you were seen with a bunch of kids a few years younger than you. The nagging and the look on the little boys face were enough for him to motivate himself into standing up and walking over, if nothing else to take the bus. He walked over to the bench, nervous to be sure but all the more willing and eager to try and help the little guy. There was a girl who sat next to him and offered him a thermos, and another kid who was standing there with coffee. Slade actually smiled as the thought of these three acting like adults waiting for the bus for work ran through his mind. A silly and pointless thought that clouded his mind. He sat on the edge of the bench with a smile.

"Uhm. Hi." He said with a single swipe of the hand as if he were waving. He leaned forward and rested his elbows on his thighs and looked around as if anticipating the bus. His telekinesis began to kick in as twelve invisible strings moved throughout the area and began to form a spider-like webbing around, letting him tell when someone was coming close. His mind was shielded as well, cautious of the concept of someone throwing off his mind. These cautious checks became habit when one had been living in NYC and who had a lot of enemies who would do anything to mess with him.

Silus found the image of the little kid making adults trip over themselves funny. He also found the concept of a hyperactive kid on coffee was even funnier. "They say it stunts your growth." He said with a smile, as if trying to warn the tiny male, though Silus' own size wasn't exactly what one could call impressive. He then turned his attention to Mackenzie and shook his head. "You didn't say anything wrong. I just needed time to breathe with what happened at the home and stuff." He explained as he took the thermos and set it down next to him. In truth, Silus was unwilling to eat or drink at the moment, still a little broken hearted from his permanent departure from the orphanage. He wondered if Mackenzie and this kid knew each other, seeing as they didn't even seem to notice each other at the current moment in time.

Silus then heard another voice speak up, a person sitting next to him. The boy was a little older than them, but not an adult really, much closer to them. He found himself smiling at this kid who seemed to be focusing on something. Silus waved back in a mirroring fashion and replied to the stranger. "H-h-hi!" He said with an uncharacteristic cheer to him. Silus then looked to Mack and then to Chris as if asking them if either of them could make proper introductions.

Mackenzie didn't know who either of the boys were and she didn't care too. She didnt like being in groups of people. It complicated things too much. She looked at both of them and instantly felt protective of silus. She didnt speak but her normally blue eyes flickered red for a second like bad mack was fighting to get out.

”Stunts my growth? Doesn't sound like somethin I would want....but I am pretty short already.” Chris would ask with a raised brow and then consider, looking down at the coffee with a raised brow. Sniffing it, he would shrug and continue to sip at the caffeine laden beverage, not really daunted by the prospect of being short. It helped with the only superpower thing, so he kinda kept drinking it anyway, and the crash was something that he tended to want to avoid. His attention however snapped to a newcomer, one that looked older than both him and the shaggy haired male, Chris narrowing brilliant blue eyes as he considered him. ”Hiya! Nice to see some friendly faces out, since most people are kinda like hey get outta my face or somethin like that, its really rude of them though.” Chris started but ended up babbling, offering a wide smile to him.

Alex couldn't help but let a little laugh burst forth as he heard their comments on coffee."Whoops... I wonder what I'd be like if I didn't drink it." The comment was followed by the boy looking up, exaggerating how tall he might have been before looking back down and shaking his head. He actually wondered if that was why he was so dang short. The smallest kid in the bunch was actually the one who seemed to be playing turtle, but when he noticed this he also noticed the little girl's eyes glowing red. He quickly pulled back two strings from his index fingers and they snaked their way back to him. One spiraled around his left leg and wrapped around him as if it were cocooning him, then the other one did the same with his right leg. From the groin to the head, he was covered in two strings of a telekinetic "barrier" of sorts, though each leg was only protected by one. Then he had his mental fortifications and barriers as well, keeping peering eyes and psionic assaults at bay...as best as he could anyway.

"Sssso... I kinda saw you."Alex would say as he moved his head forward and let it bounce slightly as he "pointed" to Christopher with his eyes. "You moved really...like REALLY fast. And this kid here has the really cool eyes. I figured we might all be from the school." he motioned towards Silus with his head and a smile. He then looked to Mackenzie and smiled before looking back to Silus and then Chris. He had a sinking feeling he should avoid the unintroduced girl. He'd probably just stick to the friendly kids if able. "So uh... I'm Alex. For what it's worth." He said with his usual little grin.

Mack chewed her lip. She could hear their thoughts. They didnt like her. They thought she was creepy. Most people did. That didnt usually bother her. But these were kids her age. Kids of her own kind. " Im Mackenzie. I was just looking for silus. I used to go to the school but my mom doesnt like me too since i got kidnapped and my dad died. But its okay. Hes not dead anymore. She still doesnt like me going to school in public anymore though." She said quickly but shyly into everyone's heads.
