Chris sat at a table in the diner towards the back with his eyes focused on the table in front of him. He'd killed before; it was part of being a soldier, but the killing he was about to do was far more personal than that. Like it or not, ever since his abilities manifested themselves, he'd been killing on personal levels and nothing was ever so simple as someone in command telling him to do it for love of country.
His father had crossed the line when he'd placed the bug on Arabella. The former airman knew he had to stop Raymond at any cost because there was no way the older man would stop on his own. If what he was doing was to draw his son to him, then it worked; nothing worked better than targeting what someone loved - and though he'd not admitted it to her, he loved Arabella dearly but he could suspect she already knew that.
After taking a glance at his watch, noting the time to be approximately when he and Thana had met in the alley, he looked around the diner for her and then back to the table in thought.
