The Rescue ( R)

Not sure what he was going to do yet. Start defending himself or go look for Mackie. It wasn't a hard decision to make. He would have to look for his daughter first and then deal with whatever else left, like taking out trash. As Peter was going to run toward Loika's yelling. A door to his left blew out and armed people ran out with their leader behind them. So typical.  They never ran ahead of crowd and died first. Cowards. 

Peter had no time for games, even though he really wanted to toy with them and see how they like it. His path was blocked by two guards. Guns pointed at Peter's head. 
"Stand down!" one yelled, "Or I will blow your brains all over the place." 
"You guys picked the wrong person, I have always been on your side." said Peter, chuckling. "See?" he snapped his finger and appeared behind them. The guards turned quickly and were met with ten inch nails to their chests. 
"No one messes with my kid and gets away with it." said Peter, running toward the door and meeting Loika. "I heard you scream, what's--" but before he could finish his sentence he saw. "Well, maybe it's not her blood." 

Apparently not surprised by anything going on here, Kas gave his friend a pathetic shrug, as if to say 'sorry' though he truly wasn't. To be fair, Mackenzie meant a great deal to him, but so did Loika.. and in his small undestanding of the workings of a female mind, Kas concluded it was safer to let Loika find out on her own and get a posse together. If he'd told her, he could bet a fortune the enraged mom would have stormed the facility on her own. Then he would have to explain that to Peter. As scary as the shewolf was, Kelly was less afraid of sparking her temper.

"Now time for Admiral Ackbar's line.."


As the doors exploded open and armed MRD muscle rushed in, he grumbled something that had been obvious to him, and vanished within a cloud of smoke. A second later there was a dull popping noise as he materialized between two men, dispatching one quickly with a punch between the eyes, his elbow striking down the second on the return sweep. They couldn't afford to waste time here.

Turning around to see Peter nail two more men dead, a flash caught his attention.

"Sparky too?" There was another slightly familiar face as well. The pale woman who worked her way into the higher tier of command among the MRD for being good at her job. She'd faced the worst and come out unscathed. Kas recalled the first encounter in Times Square, as she was watching him and Neal through the scope of a sniper rifle.

"Seems like everyone's come to settle a score with Mutant Response Division today." He watched Scarlett to see what her reaction to being so disadvantaged was; or if she had a trick up her sleeve.

Loika pointed into the room beyond the blood and clenched his hand with her other hand. Mackenzie lay on the other side of the room. Tables and chairs had been flipped over and the 2 way mirror had been cracked. It looked like a mini war had been fought in here.

"M-macken-zie." Her name came out of loika in choked sobbing sound. The blood was all over the room. a couple of guards lay on the opposite side of the room from Mack. Both were obviously dead.

Loika struggled forward on wobbly legs and pushed away from Peter. She rushed to Mackenzie and picked her up in her arms, cradling her awkwardly. She patted her daughter's cheek and shook her lightly. " Mackenzie. Mackenzie wake up its mommy. Wake up sweetheart. Macken-zie please."Mackenzie continued to lay limply in her arms with no responce. Loika held her close and tight and let out a loud anguished howl as her body threatened to shift.

Lakai ran along with the group unsure of what they would find. She shifted to her wolf form and jumped into the fight as soon as the guards arrived. This would be easy. She went for throats and wrists as they came along.

She killed a guard and heard loika cry. Her heart sank. That could only mean one thing....they were too late... "loika!" she took a step forward and the guard that she thought she killed used the last of his energy to stab her in the side. Blood stained her white fur as she helped.

Everyone left made quick easy work of the uniformed grunts, buying a momentary silence. At least until there was a long, lamenting howl that sent chills straight to the soul. Kas watched Lakai run down the hall, but stayed frozen in place. A stirring noise barely managed to grasp his attention nearby, and he ignored it. There could be a crazy bitch with an army outside, and he was ignoring that too.

"Christ on a fucking cracker!"
He sighed, staring down at the floor; which was a mess of bodies. One tiny movement caught his attention and he blinked until the image cleared, and it was definative that one of the downed men on the floor was still clinging to life; even to the point of reaching for his side arm.

Generally Kas would have lashed out. He was angry, but it went somewhere beyond that. Without even moving, he adjusted the air pressure and quietly put the man out of his pain.

"What the fuck.."
It wasn't time to agonize the guilt for a wrong choice; even if he was afraid something like this would happen. Loika had every right to be mad and that bridge would be crossed when they came to it.
He felt sorry for Loika and Peter, after all they had gone through to be together with their daughter and just have a quiet life raising her.
Why did this have to happen? Because they were different, sub-human in the eyes of others. Not even the life of a child was worth sparing to them.

"What do we fucking do now?"

"Nice to see you, Toilet." said Rachel in her usual sarcastic way. She had no idea he was here the whole time, guessed only couple of hours if not earlier waiting for them all. Rachel watched as Jason begun to take out the stationed guards on balconies and roofs, not bad, rather impressive. Her attention was caught when loud explosion was seen coming from the doors. She will stay outside and fight until the rest of them come out and get their daughter back.

She heard yelling from the woman who ordered death all around. She sounded desperate. As the guns opened their fires, Rachel immediately turned into a lizard and scurried away into the bushes just to crawl behind some and change back into herself, tapping one on a shoulder. As he spun around, Rachel delivered a hard blow to his jaw, knocking him off his feet. "You should know your enemy better than that." said Rachel as she lifted him with her hand invisibly. "Should have stayed at home and prayed to your gods." with a flick of her hand, Rachel snapped the head and released the body as it slumped to the ground with a thud.

Peter pushed slightly through the crowd of two people. He had to see for himself, and there she was. Dead in Loika's arms. He slowly shuffled his feet toward Loika and knelt beside her as his eyes begun to fill with tears. He would never cry in front of the others, but the loss of his daughter has stabbed him deeper then any pain has ever been inflicted on him before. He stroke Mackenzie hair as a tear dropped down to the ground, almost giving away glass-shattering ring. "I know that I didn't want you before," he muttered, "But long since that day, I have realized that you were the best thing that ever happened to me. My life couldn't mean as much have you not been born." Peter stroke her skin and it felt cold to the touch. "I have always loved you..." he stood up and looked down at her body. "and I always will."

His heart began to beat faster as he started to fill up with anger and vengeance. No bullet in a world would be powerful enough to stop him or kill him, he would have the blood of the woman who killed his daughter. Everyone for that matter would pay with their lives, he was done playing hide and seek and running all his life. It was time they stood up and fought back. They were no less human then the person who killed little kids. "I am going to kill the bitch!" said Peter as he looked at Loika. "I love you, Loika."

Peter quickly teleported out of the room, with a swift motion he slammed shut the doors and bent the lock in such a way that there was no way out. He was keeping her safe and everyone else. He was going to kill her.

Loika squeezed Peter's hand. She could feel his pain as much as her own. The pain hurt more to hear him finally say those words. That he wanted her. He loved her. Her own heart broke and her soul was spilling through the shattered pieces. She pushed Mackenzie's curls from her face and kissed her round little baby cheek. "Mommy loves you too baby. so much. "

Like that peter was gone and the door was bent shut. " PETER NO! NO DONT!" She gently laid Mackenzie down and ran to the door and pulled. The door was stuck solid. She finally lost it.

She shifted to her wolf form and lept up on to the table. Her eyes were fierce and feral. she let out a howl and launched herself at the cracked 2 way mirror. It two a couple of slams but she finally got the mirror to break and she lept through it.

She crashed through the glass and through the door to the hallway. She raced past Jason and the others like she didnt even recognize them. She was on a mission. People were going to die. She was tracking Scarlett's scent. It was difficult because he smell was everywhere. Lucky for her she was a skilled tracker. She was on the trail.

The M.R.D men around Scarlett were falling like dominoes. She knew they stood no chance against the mutants. But she had to try and stand her ground, because she knew she was too deep to pull out now and run. Besides, she would never run away from the fight of the lifetime. 
"Shit," she muttered to herself as she rolled on a ground from the flying debris and powers. She put her hand to her ear, "Bring out the mutants," The screaming was getting louder and louder until a large group of people and animal-like people ran out of the building all releasing their powers like they just discovered them. 

The fight was now going to be in their favor, with hundred mutants running this place, she was going to kill the rest of them. Suddenly, she was pulled out of the way and as she looked down, a man with freezing was releasing ice at air. There was nothing there. However, she was told that invisible man stood next the entire time. "Keep fighting, we must bring end to these filthy animals!" yelled Scarlett as she turned to fire two bullets at the woman in a black outfit,

Out of anger and frustration, Peter teleported farther then he has expected. He was on the opposite side of the field where he spotted Hawthorne the child-killer. No words can describe how Peter felt at the moment he saw her fire those guns. He ran toward her. The fastest he has ever ran in his entire life. He knew that his way was going to be interrupted by anyone who would defend Scarlett, but at that moment he didn't care. It was all about getting vengeance striking his nails inside her and letting her feel the pain that ripped a big hole in his heart. His heart, heavy inside didn't seem like it would hold on any much longer. The anguish of losing Mackienzie made him weaker, careless, and that much more dangerous. Peter wasn't going to be nice anymore. 

He was running when a lightning bolt from another mutant flew toward him, he teleported behind the unknown mutant and without looking threw a nail with help of his magnetism, into the head of his assailant. Not looking what damage it did to him, Peter was going to get to his target even if he had to kill everyone around. He was glad he locked Loika in a room where she wouldn't be able to get out, he couldn't afford to loser her as well. She was the last thing he had left on this world. The one that threatned to kill and take aeveryone he loved away from him. When Peter was ten feet away from the woman...
"SCARLETT HAWTHORNE---" he waited for her to take notice of him. "I AM GOING TO KILL YOU!"

When Jason heard the shouting from Peter Jackson, his heart sank down to his feet. As he invaded Peter's mind for the reason of knowing what happened, he saw that Mackenzie was dead. They killed her in cold blood. Didn't even give her a chance to fight back probably. Jason also realized that Peter was being careless, as if he didn't care about his life anymore. It seemed he was going to take on Scarlett all on his own, knowing that his chances were not that high, Jason sprang to action. Trying to invade Scarlett's mind was not so easy, something was interrupting him and pushing him away.

"RACHEL!" yelled Jason at the masked vigilante's mind. "INTERCEPT PETER, HE IS GOING TO GET HIMSELF KILLED!"

Loika was running along a line of mutant cages when alarms went off and lights went crazy. The doors were starting to open. This couldnt be good. Not at all! The mutants surged out of their cages and loika was caught in the sea of them.

She did her best to run through or around legs until something caught her by the fur on the back of her neck and lifted her up like a pup. She snarled and showed her teeth at her attacker. " Ya know, i really hate dogs." The big guy with tattoos said. His eyes were almost like lizard eyes, his tattoos and skin changed to blend into the prison. He tightened his hand around her neck and she started to gag and choke.

She finally was able to move her head enough and bit his skin. The man let out a bellow and threw her through one of the windows. She crashed through and fell to the ground outside. She hit the grass hard and groaned as the wind was knocked out of her. The mutants were still running outside as she laid there attempting to get up. Everything hurt to move. She was barely rolling to her feet as she saw the lizard man coming for her again. She thought she heard peter's voice and looked around frantically for the source. " PETER!" She barked out hoarcely as the man reached her.

Jason screamed inside her mind, and it seared a lot of pain into her mind. She saw Peter advancing toward the woman and then Loika's screaming caught her attention as well. Everything was happening so fast and so much was going on around her, she was confused whom to help. But an idea sprang to her mind like a mouse trap shuts off. She pulled out her Chakram and noticed around her the surroundings. "Oh this is going to be sweet." muttered Rachel to herself. 

Before she could let her weapon fly, someone with strong hands picked her up off the ground. Rachel elbowed whatever it was and then kicked her legs backwards into the groin. Once she was dropped back to the ground, she looked at it pitifully before sliding her weapon across his head, dropping it to the ground motionless. "Poor bastards," said Rachel as she focused at the task in hand. It was just a mess. 

Pulling her arm back and then forward with incredible momentum, Rachel let the chakram fly. She meant for it to hit a wall, bounce off and fly toward the lizard man who attacked Loika. Hopefully, her weapon will provide useful.

Loika was getting up to escape the lizard man after catching her breath. She yelped loudly as she felt the glass hit her back. The lizard man had picked up pieces on his way down after her and stabbed them into her back. She spun around as fast as she could and clamped down on the man's leg.

Rachel's initial plan didn't work as well as she had hopped. Her chakram bounced off of a wall and instead of flying toward the lizard man, it hit some other mutants and returned to her hand. "Shit!" cursed Rachel under her breath, she had to help Loika by hand. Now, there was a choice to help Peter who was going to be gunned down the moment he gets close to Scarlett or Loika who was going to be killed by some crazy mutant barely able to control his abilities. 

Rachel ran toward Loika as fast as she could, hearing her heart pumping in her ears. As she got close Rachel swung her chakram again, "LOIKA GET DOWN!" screamed Rachel as she threw her weapon again. This time she won't miss.

Loika's ears flattened and she laid down as fast as she could. She put her paws over her head and tried to brace for whatever was coming. Rachel? Why was Rachel here? Was she here to help the good guys or the bad guys? She didnt even like mackenzie. Was it Lakai? They were like two peas in a pod. It must be for Lakai. All of these thoughts raced through her head as she laid down as flat as she could with the big lizard idiot hanging over her like a big ugly beast.

Scarlett turned to look at the boy who got her attention. It was all playing out so perfectly. She didn't even need to lift a hand in the air. Her mutant pals, can do that for her. Why get your hands dirty when someone enjoys doing it can do it for free. Scarlett changed her magazines and began to walk toward the boy who yelled out her name. "Mourning the death of your daughter yet, Mr. Jackson?" asked Scarlett, smirking. She had nothing to lose and killing him would even maker he more happy. 

She slowly raised her guns and aimed at the heart of the person. She knew that he was a mutant and bullets might not be that deadly to him, however, she had to try. Just as he was getting closer, Scarlett pulled the triggers simultaneously.

Lakai woke up on her side on the floor in the hallway. She realized she had passed out from blood loss. Shit where was loika and the others? She forced herself on all four paws and noticed the blood going down the hallway in bloody paw prints. That had to be loika. Shit shit shit.

She ignored the pain in her side and ran after the blood trail and through the now empty cages. What the fuck was going on here?! It became clear that he'll had exploded as soon as she found the fight. Oh shit. She saw rachel going after some lizard guy. Across the field scarlett was aiming at peter. What the hell was going on!?

Peter dodged every bullet which was coming toward him with incredible velocity. Only one thing was on his mind, to kill the woman that has harmed his only child. His sweet Mackenzie. The girl would have had a life, but it was cut short when she was caught by the monster who executed her in cold blood. Now, there was going to be no mercy from him. He has lost much in his life for which he mourned and couldn't get back, but it was all in a past.

As Peter ran toward Scarlett he kept teleporting in and out to avoid the bullets. And with each use of his powers, memories have filled his mind, almost blinding him.

Mackenzie ran up to her daddy and tugged on his pant leg and interrupted he and mommy's conversation. " Daddy my turn! I want to dance with you too." She tugged at him impatiently.


The snake still laid limply in her hand, subdued from her mental powers. " But im playing! I dont wanna do that i want to play. Thats mommy's job not mine."

"My daddy teleports too. He teleport other people. Mommy hates it cause it makes her wanna puke. I think its fun."

She ran into the room and hugged uncle Kas' leg. " Uncle Kas!" She screamed mentally/excitedly.

Peter nearly broke into tears at the thought of all the memories he had shared with Mackenzie. The little girl didn't even have time to love anyone, other than her parents and people around her. But Peter was going to fix that. He was going to find a way to bring her back to life. Peter was going to do it, and nothing was going to stop him.

"ARHHHHHHHH" yelled Peter as a gun shot rang in his ear. He grabbed his stomach and saw blood. Much blood. He was shot, and as Peter was about to fall to the ground, he had managed to reach into the pocket and take out a nail, of course, by then, collapsed to his knees and then he fell to the ground. Gasping for air, blood began to pour out of his mouth and nose. He was dying. He has failed to protect his family.

Loika watched in horror as Peter took a hit. " PETER NO!"She shrieked. It was like everything else disappeared around them. Her baby was gone. The tiny person she was supposed to protect and love was gone and now Peter was going to follow her.

She sprung to her feet, ignoring the glass in her back and raced across the field. She ducked under fights, jumped over bodies, and rammed anyone who tried to get her path. She slid on the grass when she reached Peter and snarled at Scarlett. " WHAT THE FUCK DID WE DO TO YOU!"She screamed at her in anger. She shifted back and cradled Peter in her arms. " Baby, baby please dont leave me please." With shaky hands she pushed his hair out of his face and tried to wipe the blood from his face. " I love Peter. I need you. Its gunna be ok i promise its gunna be ok."

She knew she was lying. He was fading fast. She took his hand and held it against her cheek as she looked into his eyes. She glared up at Scarlett. The bitch was taking everything she loved in one day.

Peter was beginning to feel cold . All his life force was escaping through the wound and he knew it had to be fatal, because of so much blood. He covered the wound, so that Loika didn't see him die with a hole in his stomach. He gasped for air, as it leaked out thorugh the wound as well. Peter knew that his time was counting down and fast, he wasn't going to remain alive for more then few minutes, and he had so much he wanted to tell Loika. All the things he never mustered up courage to tell her. He choked on the blood as it ran out of his mouth. 

" I love Peter. I need you. Its gunna be ok i promise its gunna be ok.
"You take care -- of you--yourself--" said Peter as he chocked on blood more. This time, he wasn't going to be saved by medallion. He was going to die on a field next to his baby. "I lo--lo--love you!" and with his last words, Peter took a deep breath and closed his eyes for good. The life he led was the best one and any guy would have been lucky to be Loika's husband. He just wished he had more time to spend with her and Mackie.

"NOOOOOOOOOOO!" She screamed until it hurt. She hugged him close against her. The last heart string was cut. Her last reason to live was gone in her arms. She slowly laid him down on the ground gently and took his wedding ring off of his finger. She clenched it in her fingers tightly and sobbed more. She put it on the chain around her neck along with her dog tags and her own wedding ring she wore on the chain. She wore it there so as not to loose it.

She shifted back to her wolf form and stepped over Peter towards scarlett like a predator. She was growling with her teeth showing. All of her muscles were tense. She was ready for blood. She sprang on the bitch with jaws snapping and biting. She wouldnt stop till one of them were dead.

Jason turned around to see Peter fall to the ground and Loika slid beside him on her knees. It didn't look good, and Jason's heart felt heavy. "Oh shit," he muttered to himself as anger took hold of his body. He was done with these people. He looked around noticing all the mutants running around, linking his mind with everyone in the field, except Scarlett, Jason ordered them to kill each other. "DO IT NOW!" he screamed in mutant heads. 

Time seemed to slowed down around him as body began to fall one after another, right in front of him. It was a bloody mess, but Jason didn't care. It was far too late to talk him out of it. He ran to Peter as Loika turned to a wolf and charged at Scarlett. She was going to get what she deserved. There was no doubt about that.

Loika attacked scarlet with a vengeance. She bit and tore at the woman until she stopped moving. Blood covered her front legs and muzzle. She panted and looked around at the devastation. Lakai looking at them from across the field, all of the now dead mutants.

She slowly walked back to jason and peter. She nuzzled peter and licked his cheek one last time. She then looked up at Jason with pain filled eyes. She whined. " I just...i cant. Jason im sorry!" Before he could grab her she turned tail and took off.

Everything happens in a split second on a battlefield.. Time is everything.

This was something Kelly was already used to, though as enemies rushed in and friends reappeared, Kas was mostly standing around. He dealt with a pair of the feral mutants that approached with a surprise disintegration blast; and the rest stayed away from him.

Jason shouted a derective to everyone to stop Peter before he got hurt, but Kas apparently didn't find that motivating enough. Because Peter laughs at guns, or because he didn't feel like following orders? Who knows. The one time he really should have done anything other than watching stuff happen, that's what Kas was doing. It seemed like he blinked and all of a sudden Peter was on the floor and the feral mutants were turning against each other. Loika was stalking toward Scarlett with nothing left to live in the moment for but vengeance.

Taking a second to formulate a wall of air behind Scarlett to block her from escape or reinforcements, Kelly walked away from the fight unsure of everything, other than the feeling that this shouldn't be happening.

"This isn't right.. Jason, you're not going to leave things this way."
It wasn't a question, because it would seem daft to question whether the friends that died were taken unfairly, before thier time. Kas still waited to hear Andrews' answer though.
"A day, a few hours back in time; that would be all we need to fix this. Go back to this morning, call Loika and tell her to keep Mackenzie home from school.. Simple."
