Chris was anxious on the ride to the mansion grateful once they arrived in front of the house allowing him to step out and get some air. He still had no way of knowing if his distraction had worked or if Arabella was even alive after what the MRD may have done to her before the X-Men went to pick her up. On top of that, he had no way of knowing where she was inside the massive house or if MRD would be following them and wanted to be sure of a few things: first off that she was safe, secondly if anyone else was hurt, and finally what the plan was on securing their safety with MRD having declared war on them and would no doubt be looking for revenge for the loss at Times Square.
The lightning bolt he'd sent at Scarlett was meant for deadly efficiency and no mere human could have survived it, at least he hoped not. It had taken a bit out of him but his hope for Arabella is what kept him moving. The electricity he'd dispersed in both combat and keeping the field up to protect himself and Alec was taxing though would recover soon and even as he walked up the steps and inside the mansion, he felt his strength returning. The lights in the mansion flickered violently with low hums as he allowed his emotions of doubt and worry get the better of him and it wasn't until some students and teachers stepped out of their classrooms that he took a calming breath, realizing what he was doing. When the flicker stopped, everyone went back into the rooms closing the doors. It seemed common place for odd occurances there given everyone was a mutant and had their own respective gifts that could get out of control from time to time.
He turned to Loika with a questioning look. "Do you know if your team got her out? Is she okay?"
